“beautiful bungalows”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

the bungalows are 100m from the entrance of the national park. they are equiped with fridge plates etc., so you can prepare breakfast on you own if you want and there are mosquito nets and a fan.a really quiet and lovely place where we (family with two children 3 and 5 years old) stayed 10 days. there are monkeys around and heeps of crabs.
the only thing what was not good for me and my wife was the matraz. my back was really hurting after a few nights.
but in spite of this we can recommend the bungalows ache and would also stay there for another holiday.

“Paradise found.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

We stayed at Bungalows Ache for two nights in September 2011 - and how much we loved it! The spacious, clean and well equipped bungalows are surrounded by a lush garden full of curious animals: Monkeys swing from one tree to the other, a hummingbird whirrs by, hundreds of crabs disappear into the ground at your slightest movement, and the air is full of passion fruit flavour as you swing back and forth in your personal hammock... once you feel you've done enough "slothing about", the friendly and helpful owner Doris can organise a guided tour through the National Park next door - the guide Peck finds animals in the most unsuspected places, and he takes his time to show you around the park. Cahuita is a quiet, little paradise - Im glad we found it, and I hope well be back again!

“Absolutely wonderful!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011 via mobile

There are few places on earth that you wish you could always go back to. Bungalows Ache is truly one of them. This place is a "10"!

Nestled in a quiet corner, bordering the wild of Cahuita National Park, this sanctuary allows you to experience the real Costa Rica from the balcony of a beautiful, comfortable and clean lodge. It's close to town and the beach, so if reggae and surf turn you on (and it's hard not to be drawn by either in Cahuita), then you've found THE place. The service is very friendly and excursions can be arranged for snorkelling, hiking or other sightseeing.

Be prepared for a fun, exciting and relaxing time. Our family had a great time at Ache, admiring the birds and seeing the many species of primates, right from our porch!!

“Heaven on earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2011

This ex german run establishment borders the Cahuita National Park. Howler monkeys frequently visit the bungalows. It is one lovely establishment. Quiet, clean and relaxed. The owner Doris goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Restaurants, supermarkets are just 75 metres away. The busstop is 200metres away. All bungalows come with private shower, fridge, hammocks, mosquito nets and a fan. Bring enough mosquito repellent, the mosquitos are on steroids! Free Wifi

“Peaceful Retreat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 May 2011

We stayed three nights (April 29-May 1) and enjoyed the secluded nature of this place. We were in the last cabin and our door opened toward the forest so we felt like we were all alone there. Although we couldn't see the ocean from our room, we could still hear it softly in the background. We saw both howler and white-faced monkeys from the porch and heard the howler monkeys every night. Its a very short walk to the park or to any of the restaurants in town. The only downside is no air conditioning and the room does tend to be hot during the day, but at night it cooled down just fine and there were two fans available.
