We stayed three nights (April 29-May 1) and enjoyed the secluded nature of this place. We were in the last cabin and our door opened toward the forest so we felt like we were all alone there. Although we couldn't see the ocean from our room, we could still hear it softly in the background. We saw both howler and white-faced monkeys from the porch and heard the howler monkeys every night. Its a very short walk to the park or to any of the restaurants in town. The only downside is no air conditioning and the room does tend to be hot during the day, but at night it cooled down just fine and there were two fans available.

We stayed here for three nights. We checked out a few other places and decided to spend a bit of extra money for a beautiful setting and a bit of privacy. The grounds the bungalows are located on are lovely...it backs on to the national park. Wildlife abounds here...You can relax in the hammock during the day and watch the hummingbirds buzz around, check out the crabs making their dens in the evening, and we were treated to the noise of howler monkeys right outside our bungalow in the middle of the night. The safe for your valuables in the bungalow is a bonus. The only not so great things were that the bungalows get quite hot during the day but you probably won't be inside anyways, and also the mattress was kind of lousy but tolerable. Overall though, it was worth the extra few bucks for the peaceful experience! Would definitely stay here again.

Me and my girlfriend was traveling Costa Rica and we happened to stumble
upon this beautiful peaceful garden located just of the center of Cahuita.
We where supposed to go on to panama after 2 nights but we ended up staying for an extra 3 nights mainly for the ambiance of Cahuita and bungalow Ache, My girlfriend and i both warmly recommend this place.

I just stayed a weekend at Bungalows Ache and found it to be very charming with the best location in Cahuita, right behind the National park and the Caribbean Sea. The hotel is under new management, a German woman named Doris who was very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated and the sound of the sea was awesome at night. I found no problems with bedbugs as someone else reported In fact, the rooms, beds and linens were spotless. I asked Doris about the policy regarding cancellations and she said that since they do not take a credit card to reserve the room they expect a call to reconfirm the reservation and I think this is reasonable since evidently sometimes people do not show up and these small hotels can lose a night of business. I would highly recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, uniqueness and the friendliness of the management.
