“10/10 excellent customer service! Meals & Private Tours Perfecto and the rooms obviously.”

I have travelled for the last 6 weeks and staying at Casa Holanda is the best B&B I've stayed in. It doesn't get any better than this, they tick all the boxes. The Rooms are well decorated, very clean and comfortable. Great meals and snacks are prepared fresh on premises including juice and coffee. Food was both tasty and healthy.
I recommend the private tours, you can create yourself a package right here with room, meals and personal tours. I did the volcano, waterfall and Cartago tours it was a great way to enjoy country and wildlife. I plan to return.

Such a pleasant stay, hospitality in the true sense of the word. Massive change from pre-package hotel groups; and a great initiation to travels in a beautiful country.

“Great Host and Quiet Relaxing Bed and Breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

For a quiet, relaxing stay where you can communicate with nature and yourself, this is a break away from the normal five star hotels to a private secluded location for relaxation and getting to be at peace with your self, or time to work on some plan or even write a book.

Great host and very economical accommodations but you must be willing to share bath room facilities although you will have a private shower.

Pick up snacks from local store and keep them in the refrigerator provided up stairs as lunches, dinner and drinks can add up to be quite expensive. Kitchen is off limits to guest.

Free wireless internet provided or use the hotel computers for mail. Very economical pricing and worth the stay.

Room Tip: Do not do the Arbor room, it is outside, do one of the inside rooms.

“I loved my stay at Casa Holanda”

This place is delightful. Located at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac in the San Pablo community, Casa Holanda is tastefully decorated, clean and quiet. There is a lovely courtyard in back of the house--breakfast is often served there. My room was comfortable, with attractive views (especially pretty at night) of the hills surrounding Heredia. James and Roy were perfect hosts, and made me feel quite at home. In addition to accommodations, a full range of guide services is offered. My son and I took the tour to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, and we felt that it was well worth it--it would have been difficult for us to get there on our own. All in all: Viva Casa Holanda!

“amazing staff, great stay... maybe a bit on the expensive side...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 April 2011

it is obvious that the owner and staff are very proud of their hotel, and rightly so. the hotel is in a nice quiet residential area, and the rooms are extremely clean and comfortable, with top-class beds.
live piano music during our breakfasts, and also during the one dinner we had (they will cook you 'whatever you like' for $15 per person including everything). we had salad and fresh fruit juice to start, and a main course of pasta and a piece of grilled tuna; frankly it's better than going out to a restaurant, with good food, private atmosphere, great price for this.
we did have one complaint... we rented the honeymoon suite in large part due to the jacuzzi. unfortunately, if you use this, there is no more hot water for some time, and you will end up taking a cold shower after your time in the jacuzzi... this is obviously extremely unpleasant. i recommended to the owner that they get a better hot water system.
a 'trivial' compaint was that they should use something other than the ultra-thin, sandpaper-like toiletpaper that they only use in airports... this hotel is way too good for that.
i feel the pricing is slightly steep, but then again, if they fixed the hot water problem, i would definitely go back and stay in that same room... otherwise, i might go back, but rent a cheaper room without the hot tub, and hopefully there would be hot water for all my showers.
