If you are looking to stay on the beach and soak up Tamarindo for what it is, this is your place. The rooms aren't resort style but are cabin style. Excellent views of the ocean from your room which is only about a 10 meter walk through some privacy providing palm trees. The room wasn't exceptionally clean but it was (more importantly) bed bug free. The staff at the hotel was more than willing to go the extra mile to make sure things would be done the way you wanted them. Bernie (the owner/manager) told us as soon as we checked in that we were going to be treated just like family. Thats exactly how we were treated. All special requests were taken care of easily and swiftly. Even on the day of check out, he made sure a plate of fruit was prepared for us to eat since breakfast wasn't going to be ready by the time we left. There was even a night time security guard on the property constantly monitoring the rooms. If you want an affordable room that is in the best location in Tamarindo with service that cannot be matched, La Palapa is the place to stay.

“Nice Beach but Watch Your Goods”

Stayed here for 6 night while visiting friends and surfing in Tamarindo. The location and beach are both great but unfortunately had some money missing from my room, from the safe ....the staff were eager to call the police to prove it wasn't there fault. Regardless, the security in this hotel wasn't the greatest...so watch your goods!

so wonderful quality for value hotel just right on the beach and such with a very raffined restaurant right on the beach too with an amazing beach garden.All the team was so nice and attentioned.It was a perfect combination of feeling at home and being in a real paradise.I recomend so much!!!!

“Good location but bad smell small room, uncomfortable bed.”
It has a nice beach view but so does a lot of hotels in the area. The room is not comfortable. It's ok for a couple day stay.
