Amazing beach. Wonderful staff. Delicious breakfast included each morning. GORGEOUS pool. Rooms are cozy and quaint with local crafty decor. Only downside is you need to take a cab to get into town. We had an amazing time!

My boyfriend and I travelled around Costa Rica for three weeks over the Christmas period and spent four nights here starting Christmas Eve.

It was simply stunning. The room was big, outside private shower, high quality decor and very comfortable. The hotel only had eight or nine rooms so it was nice a quiet and unintrusive.

Breakfast was included and was usually 3 courses by there in house chef. Very tasty.

The hotel is set right on the beach which we sat on every day. Was also quiet and relaxing and a perfect sunset location with a couple of beers. You can walk into the main town each night but would recommend a taxi back as its abit dark. You can also walk along the beach to the main town during the day aswell - about 10 minutes or so.

They operate an honestly bar and generally make you feel like its your very own home during your stay.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at Sueno and can't say enough good things. Lily's breakfasts started our day off right each morning! Great traditional flavors done homestyle. I would like the fresh juices every day of my life! The staff was so friendly and helpful. from the moment we booked, Eduardo, Andrina and Susanne were super helpful in making arrangements for excursions, giving us directions and making us feel welcome and at home. We live in NYC so the peacefulness of Sueno del Mar was perfect for getting away. The place might not be for everyone--if you are looking for a large property with tons of amenities this isn't for you. There are rustic rooms, a rocky (but beautiful and relaxing) beach with great furniture and lots of hammocks to just read and relax and outdoor showers--but for those that need a litle bit of luxury--there is air conditioning! The town is not too far of a walk on the beach (At least for New Yorkers!)--it's beautiful at night with lots of stars .to see. We loved the sense of being close enough to "civilization" but far enough away to feel like we had our own private paradise. Perfect getaway with wonderful people who make you feel like a family. Highly recommended.

We just celebrated our wedding in Tamarindo, and fully booked Sueno with our wedding guests. Everyone was in heaven - it is so quaint and perfectly rustic! the accommodations are lovely and the staff incredible. But nothing can compare to their breakfast! Every morning the dining room was filled with our wedding guests. many were staying elsewhere, but could not pass up the Sueno breakfast to start their day. A MUST eat when in Tamarindo, and a great place to stay!
