A neighboring hotel was over booked, so for the first nite , was moved over to Tropicana. Went out to dinner and came back, everything of value was taken from the room,,,, over $1000 dollars worth.
I guess this place is ok to stay at as long as you don't mind donating your valuables to theives. Door was locked, so it could have been an inside job. My recommendation is obvious.
I have been coming to Tamarindo for 4 years now and the town conitnues to go down hill as far as theft is concern. It is happening at hotels as well as on the streets. Utilities are also being strained with the increase construction of new hotels and condos. Electricity was shut off almost every day for about 5 hours. And out of country construction workers have come piling into the region to work on new condo/hotels. They stay in little shacks and hang out on the main strip at night. It is very sad what is happening to this beautiful pocket of Costa Rica. If leaders of the community don't get a handle on what is happening, there is going to be even bigger problems down the road.
