Entre Dos Aguas was the perfect laid back hotel for us on our visit to playa samara. Set off of the main strip in town, and a few blocks up from the beach, it's near to everything, and yet felt like our private sanctuary. The owners are great, and were helpful in providing directions and offering suggestions for places to go around town. We particularly liked the chill patio with the hammocks and rocking chairs, and the large sitting area. They had a separate refrigerator so you could buy food and bring it back to the hotel, or make your own sandwiches. We took full advantage and would buy avocados, papayas, tomatoes, etc from the street vendors and came back to tasty lunches and snacks during the heat of the day.
The rooms were nice and clean, we loved the stone showers. Apart from an unusually loud group on our first night (which thankfully left) all the other guests were fairly quiet and respectful of each other and their neighbors.
I would definitely go back if I went back to Costa Rica, and would certainly recommend the area for a nice vacation.

We have just come back from a 3-week trip around Costa Rica and this was our favourite hotel. From the large, attractive rooms with their big stone shower to the lush garden, everything here is well thought out. The patio areas have wooden ceilings with fans, rocking chairs and hammocks so that you can relax and read all the guide books and magazines provided and help yourself to tea or coffee all day. There's a fridge for guests' drinks and an honesty bar too. The pool is great for cooling down after a trip to the beach or town. Breakfast is fine. Their was no internet but wifi - we had out laptop with us. Great value too.

Brandon and Lilah have created a very relaxing environment.
The hotel is located higher up on the principal street -- but still nestled back away from the road. The only thing you'll hear is the howler monkeys and cicadas. It was really serene just rocking on the hammock with the cicadas sounds at dusk.

The only slight drawback is it is not located directly on the beach.
Despite this, you'll enjoy this place, it is really a hidden gem.

Had we known how nice Samara was over Tamarindo, I would have planned more days in here.

I recently spent a few days at the Entre Dos Aguas with my two sons, and we were completely enthralled with our time there. After bouncing around Costa Rica the previous week and being pretty beat up I needed a place I could relax and rest up and there could not possibly be a better spot than this! Brandon and Lilah, the proprietors, were perfectly accomodating and friendly without being "too" involved. The breakfast choices were all very good especially Lilah's homemade granola! I particularly enjoyed the common area in the evenings... people trickling back home throughout the afternoon and evening with stories of their daily activities. It provided an interesting interaction with guests from all over the world. This place is a fantastic travel value, and one, I can assure you, i'll enjoy again as soon as possible!
