The hotel is an easy 5 minute walk up a shallow hill right off the main street. Very comfortable accommodations - attractive and airy room, clean bathroom and a covered patio (with table and chairs) steps away from a refreshing shaded cold plunge pool. Nearby is a regular pool and shaded common area. There are many free breakfast choices and the food was nicely prepared.

Stayed just one night as we were heading down the coast to Mal Pais but I felt this hotel was generally good all around. The pool was great as was the breakfast. Our a/c worked excellent, in fact I had to turn it down in the middle of the night. We felt the price was reasonable, but spend the extra money for the larger rooms as the small rooms looked VERY small. The manager was direct and to the point in his manner of business but as a Canadian I prefer this to artificiality. My only criticisms would be that the decor in the rooms needs to be updated as the rooms are somewhat dreary although when one goes to Costa Rica they don't spend much time in their room. The bathrooms also definitely need an upgrade. I must say though that the water pressure was excellent, the best of any hotel that I stayed at, even those costing in excess of double the money. It is about a 5 minute walk to the beach. I was not overly impressed with Samara Beach as I found the beach somewhat dirty and the water murky although the beach bars and restaurants are very good.

We rented a kitchenette room for a week and really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, immaculately kept and the staff very friendly and helpful. The pool area offered a lovely retreat when the beach was too hot.

We stayed 5 days in this hotel! It's a beautiful place, with an incredible garden, great swimming pool, clean and spacious rooms, good breakfast! The owners were very nie and we saw thay put much heart in what they do to take care of the hotel! The hotel is 4 minutes walk from the beach which allows you to have a walk and observe Playa Samara daylife and nightlife - quite interesting things to see! we enjoyed it a lot! The owners arranged for us one more night to stay, they weren't sure if it is possible at the begining so thay even booked for us a room in another hotel just in case and told us they would drive us there. In the end we could stay at their hotel but it was very kind to offer all this for us. The only thing I didn't like was that theye were watering the garden during the day, which I find too much waste of water and it could be done once the sun sets to economise more.
