Reading reviews can be helpful and scary depending on someone else’s experience. Condovac La Costa is a RCI property that is currently renovating entire sections of rooms. We started out in one of the standard, which are a little outdated, but comfortable until the air conditioner broke. As a result, we moved up to a renovated two level, two bedroom unit, we only had the lower level, and a newly wedded couple occupied the upstairs.
The front desk provides guest with two room keys, but when we were relocated we only received one key. The newlyweds walked in on us around 10 pm while sleeping in our birthday suits. Thankfully for the Condovac the entire unit was reserved and for us we were relocated again to an even better unit. Only one unit had face and hand towels, and all of the units had more than enough towels.
We ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the restaurants on site. I tried the rice and beans with scrambled eggs for breakfast. The rice and beans were rather dry. We also had quarter pancakes that were decent, the hash browns were cooked to hard and a little too greasy for me; however, I enjoyed the Sea Bass dinner with Mashed Potatoes, and Vegetables. The sauce that was atop of the fish had claims, calamari, shrimp, and mussels in a light broth. I am most pleased that our Costa Rica trip was without transportation issues to and from the airport, and without activity concerns. Thanks to Marvdigi Tours. If you are planning a trip to Costa Rica, you must contact Marvin or Digi for transportation and excursion needs [ --XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -- ]. Spending time with Marvin and Digi was one of the many highlights of our trip. We had an enjoyable time with them and other customers attending the same outing. Most of their tours come with breakfast and/or lunch, Digi is a safe driver, Marvin is a well informed English speaking guide, and they love what they do and are passionate about providing optimum service to their customers.
Service at the Condovac La Costa Resort was professional, friendly, and courteous from the shuttle bus drivers to the gym manager to the front desk personnel. Although Spanish is the first language, the communication barrier was a non issue; all of our wants and needs were met. The beach appears to be dirty due to the black ash from the volcanoes, but once you walk beyond the shallow end the water is clear. The resort is atop a hill, the beach is at the bottom of the hill, and you have two options climb the steep hill or take the shuttle bus. The bus laps the resort every 5 to 8 minutes starting at 6 a.m. until 8 or 9 p.m. You must take advantage of the inexpensive messages. A 60 minute message is $25.00, which was more than worth it.More
