The location of the hotel is great. The property has beautiful views and is considered beachfront property. I enjoyed the fact that we were at Ocotal beach and near Playa de Coco - which is only a $6 cab fare away.

However, the property needs major up keep and renovations. Many local people that we came across also stated that the property had gone done significantly. The staff and manager were nice but the service was poor. The first night we requested face towels, but received only hand towels and it took almost 4 hour before they were delivered. Only the last night of our stay did we actually receive face towels.We asked for assistance to open the room safe and no one ever came. Staff at the pool and beach are very limited and often not visible/available. The view and location are all that this resort has going for it!

However, if you need to work and relax at the pool or on the beach they have very reliable Wifi service.

Stayed here Jan 2012 - we were in the Gunacaste area looking for a beachfront hotel which was to suit our budget of upto $150 usd/ night. We arrived here without a reservation and they said the room was $135 per night but said they would discount this by 25% to around $100usd per night including breakfast & taxes which was great. Stayed 5 nights, it was quiet and away from the bustle of Coco Beach but only a $6 usd cab ride. The room was spacious and looked out onto the sea. Cleaning was superb! Resturant views for breakfast are breathtaking. 3 pools all quiet and clean one with a pool bar and direct access to the beach. Breakfasts are the same daily - omlettes to order, rice & beans, scrambled eggs, cereals and fresh fruit with real fruit juice and offers 'a la carte' once a week. Staff all pleasant and helpful. Very god value for money and a quiet resort but within easy reach of Coco Beach where it is a lot more lively - this suited us down to the ground and we were extremely pleased with it - thank you.

We just got back from spending an all-inclusive week at the Ocotal Resort, and it was the most relaxing vacation! The hotel is a bit old, and could use some fresh paint etc., but the service, great food and most of all the location more than make up for all that. It has a fantastic views, especially from the 400 block of rooms, the pools and the beach are great. The restaurant offers excellent, fresh food, and although the menu isn't extensive, they are very happy to accommodate requests from guests. Their seafood was always fresh and well prepared, the same with vegetables and fruit. The swim up bar has a great bartender as well, and a view of the beach. We saw more wildlife everyday at the resort than we did on the tour to the Rincon de la Vieja Park. Everyday finished with a fantastic sunset right from our little veranda... can't wait to go back to Ocotal!

This hotel was fantastic, it had beautiful views of the ocean and the staff was really friendly. We had an all-inclusive rate so all of our drinks and food were included the whole time we were there. The rates were reasonable and pretty much in line with other hotels in the area. There are plenty of activities to do around the hotel. It was only a five minute walk down to the black sand beach. We had a great time during our stay here.
