I stayed there with my girlfriend in August of 2010 while on a trip through Costa Rica. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a hotel. After going to sleep at around midnight, we were woken up by a rooster cuckledoodledo-ing at 4am. This lasted until 7 or 8. It was extremely loud and made it impossible to get back to sleep. What is the point of a hotel if you can't sleep through the night. Other than that, the hotel is quite unattractive but is decent enough for the price. The pool is dirty and looked extremely unappealing. Same with the hot tub. The free internet was nice. But we got so little sleep that I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and they helped arrange tours while we were there and accommodations for our next location in Costa Rica. They have 2 computers and free internet access in the lobby, which was a bonus. Since we didn't rent a car the location of this hotel was perfect--right accross the street from the park in the center of town and close (walking distance) to just about every restaurant in La Fortuna. They have free full breakfast located on a balcony on the second floor. Nice street view. The room was clean and had TV & AC which you will want in La Fortuna---very humid! From the third floor you have a view of Volcan Arenal (with an antenna in the way) but oh well = ) For the price (about $45 pr night taxes included) it was worth it. There is a pool, although we never used it. The only down side was that there is a rooster living somewhere very close to the hotel and he likes to crow---at 3am. Bring earplugs and you'll have a very pleasant stay = )

Good & Bads, Clean, convenient location but noisy, great view of volcano, Don't know what staff others were commenting on. Staff service was extremely poor. No wake up call when requested, good thing we woke up anyway. Arranged for early breakfast to allow for meeting tour bus, Staff did not show up to cook. Breakfast arrived after the bus arrived. Management didn't seem to care at all, a sincere apology would have been nice, they had a total lack of concern...

We stayed here for 2 nights with a group of 3 people in a triple room. Actually it was a double room with a thin, soft mattress on the floor which didn't really help for a good rest.
Our room was supposed to have a safe but all that was left were holes in the wall where it used to be. The bathroom was standard although there was shower curtain and the door is a folding door that served more like a screen than anything. There is a pool but it doesn't look very inviting.
Be aware that from most of the rooms you can't actually see the volcano due to the 3 story concrete wall right next to the complex.

Pro:
- right in the middle of La Fortuna
- free internet (not in all rooms)
- free breakfast (very basic)

Con:
- very noisy location
- hotel is accessible from outside for everybody
- old, worn out furniture, especially the beds
- noisy old air con
