Stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip. Clean, well maintained hotel.
Excellent breakfast buffet, and if you are on the go, you can get it to go as well.
Try the rostopollo restaurant next door, (for Canadians, the Costa rican version of Swiss Chalet!)
Shuttle to airport very handy, and the staff are cordial, and provided basic information.
A taxi ride to downtown San Jose is $28. Worth a visit if you have the time. Be security concious though and aware of your personal belongings.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica, and we arrived late at night. It was nice that the shuttle was just ouside the exit at the airport and we were at the hotel in just a few minutes. Breakfast was nice and included. They also gave us a little paper bag lunch that came in handy for our travel the next day as were picking up a car and driving. We thought that was a nice touch.

I stayed there twice. once at the beginning of my trip and once at the end. Finding the free shuttle turned out to be pretty easy even though there's a swarm of taxi drivers once you leave the terminal. The shuttle picks up up right across from the terminal exit and both times a "spotter" saw I didn't need a taxi told me to wait and called the Hampton Inn Rep. who was on site and the shuttle showed up within a few minutes.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. There's a Denny's and a casino right next door. The breakfast at Hampton Inn were free, quick and had a wide selection of fruit, waffles, cereal, toast and coffee etc. If your spanish isn't very good no problemoo.

I would have rated it a five overall if my last stay wasn't $120.00. My initial stay was $85.00.
Some airplane noise starting around 6:15 am.

So glad we found this Hampton Inn - it was across the street from the Rent-a-Car place and while my husband was getting the car I walked over and reserved our room for the last night. Just like every Hampton Inn in the States and that was a wonderful sight for me. By the last night I was ready for something familiar. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The breakfast the next morning was good. We were able to buy our Costa Rican exit pass right there in the hotel to avoid lines at the airport. The shuttle could NOT have been easier. It was great. Thumbs up all the way around. Next time- I will book first and last nights there.
