I stayed here with my husband and toddler for 3 days, along with 8 other relatives for a family reunion of sorts. Ray and Doris are first class hosts and provided a truly enchanting weekend for all of us. From the moment we walked in the door late on a Thursday night, we were immediately impressed. A customized folder awaited us with all the information we could need, as well as menus for us to choose what we wanted to order during our stay. We stayed in the Dillingham suite, which was perfect for our little trio. The suite is laid out so that the master bedroom and little living room are separated by a short hallway. They had a Pack 'n Play already set up for us, complete with blankets, in the living room portion of the suite. I can't say enough how wonderful it was to have that little bit of separation from our daughter, where she was right at hand but we could still have a light on in our room or the tv on low without disturbing her. Speaking of the tv, when we first walked into the room it was lovely to be greeted by classical music playing softly on the tv and lamps turned on in the room. Such a warm welcome for us weary travelers!
Blue Spring Manor is beautiful, through and through. As we had so many family members staying there at once, I was able to see many of the other rooms. They're all different from each other but very nice. The landscape is so beautiful and the grounds are immaculately kept. It was nice to stroll with our family around the property, which is huge! My daughter was especially interested in the large koi pond out back and the putting green in the front yard. My favorite part of the house was the back porch and pool area. It's so pretty and peaceful out there. Even when it got hot, the fans on the porch kept it comfortable. I spent A LOT of time relaxing on the porch swing.
As wonderful as our stay at Blue Spring Manor was, the #1 highlight for me was definitely the food. Doris is a PHENOMENAL cook. Every single meal was absolutely incredible... almost too good to describe. She goes out of her way to make every dish fancy and gourmet. I will warn you, though: DO NOT eat here and expect to stick to your diet! Just check your waistline at the door and you'll be fine. The food was so good that even my less-than-2 year old cleaned her plate at nearly every meal.
I would recommend staying at Blue Spring Manor in a heart beat. Don't skip out on the food!! I honestly think that anyone who stays here and chooses not to order any food is seriously missing out on half the experience. Amazing. That pretty much sums it up.
