“A Pleasant Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2008

This is an old Holiday Inn with exterior doors on two levels. It's a large facility but with no inner courtyard. I mention this as the noise of autos, people walking by outside your room, people talking outside, etc. is quite loud. The hotel apparently is used by truckers and they start their diesel engines early in the morning. Be sure you request an room as far away from the parking lot as you can get. On the plus side, the hotel is very well maintained and has a great staff. There is free breakfast and good internet service. The room was comfortably large and the bed comfortable. We had a problem with the tub drain and the manager was most interested in hearing about it and having it fixed. Next door is a Holiday Inn Express owned by the same management company. When we tried to get a smoking king room there, we were told that they only had double bedded rooms available, no kings or queens. Maybe they were already booked. They called over to the Holiday Inn to be sure that a king smoking was available.

“Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2007

This hotel ranks as one of the best Holiday Inns I have ever stayed in! The room was on the small size, but was extremely clean. The staff were very friendly. Free breakfast bar. Pet friendly place!

“Dirty beds!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 June 2006

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Panama City beach and I was pretty dissapointed. First we didn't arrive there until around 10:00 p.m. with our 4 yr old and she was tired. We pulled back the sheets to our beds and one of them had hair and it looked like fried chicken crumbs!!!!! I was discusted. We called the front desk and the poor girl at the front dest tried to help us but she was left alone to do it all. She had to come and try to change the sheets herself. So here I am changing my own sheets to try to help her out and then she had the wrong size so she had to call the housekeeping manager and she got her clothes on and came and helped finally at 11:00 my daughter was able to go to sleep. Then the next morning when we went down to the free buffet that they offer - they were out of plates and finally brought some out and they were all dirty - with grits on all of them. It was pretty discusting! I probably won't stay there on our next trip through.

“Basically Okay”

My wife and I stayed here the night of July 9, 2005.This Holiday Inn at U.S. 29 & Route 231 is clean and nicely landscaped. The staff is friendly and helpful. The free hot breakfast is very nice. Taking luggage to our upstairs room was difficult because we had to go through the two doors of the exercise room to get to our room from the closest steps from the parking lot. Pool area is very nice. The Country Bar-B-Que restaurant down the road had the worst bar-b-que we have ever eaten.

“Great Place to stop on the way to Panama City”

I am not a fan of 2-story, exterior corridor hotels, but I would definitely have to make an exception for this one. The rooms are spacious, and felt like suites. The pool was nice, but a little bit cloudy. I was there during their renovation, and had no problems with construction noise. The staff was extremely friendly, they accepted my exit guide coupon and the family pet with no resistance, and was more than happy to accomodate my request for an upstairs room. The real winner of this hotel is the free breakfast. We're not talkin' your donut and coffee, but a real southern breakfast buffet with all of the fixin's (including the sausages that are local to the area). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area and will be back when I return. Hotelman
