we book an executive suite through expedia...was reasonable considering that we were considerng other standard rooms in other hotels that was even more expensive than this suite.

the room was big, had a jacuzzi bath which was good after a long day of walking, and many mirrors around....the 2 main drawbacks were that the lights were dim and you did have to on all the lights to make it brighter, as well as the aircon not working that well... we were here during winter and it was the coldest hotel room we stayed in. OFten worked up feeling crazily cold like the heater wasnt working that well.

you cannot ask for a better location...we were like 1min away from the bund, so you can easily pack breakfast and sit by the bund to eat it....the other direction from the bund is nanjing east metro station and further down is people'ssquare so everything is really nearby.....its really awesome...

The hotel is located right behind the very Famous Peace Hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights. Book through Expedia at $53.57 per night including taxes. A excellent bargain considering the location. Had a standard room with two beds, the only issue I have is that even with all the lights turned on the room wasn't very bright at night. Decent selection of English channels on the tv.

It's a very short walk to the Bund. Staff was very courteous especially the concierge. The metro station is about 10 minutes walk. Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel. Ate a few times at this tiny restaurant which is about 2-3 minute walk away. Around 20 minute walk to People's park and the Shanghai Museum and Museum of Art.


There is a computer on each floor for guest use. Well my floor had a computer. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is basic, although you get free wi-fi. Was given a 2nd floor room. Room was clean, adequate for 1 to 2 person. Bathroom is small but is clean and usable.
The wifi does not work in the room, had to go out to the corridor just above lobby to access the network.
Great location - just 4 blocks from Najing Road East subway station. Leave station at Exit 3 and then walk towards the Bund. Pass 3 intersections and take a left on the 4th light. Landmark to watch for is the Peace Hotel (Fairmont). The hotel is about 50 meters away.
There are some local food near the hotel. Turn left on exit of hotel and turn right on the next street. Unfortunately, the menu is in Chinese and they don't speak English. I just pointed at pictures of the food to order.
There is a convenience store nearby. It is in the same vicinity as the local eats.
I would stay here again.

Yes, the air doesn't work well but was adequate in November.

I stayed here for around 3 weeks when I moved to Shanghai this fall. The hotel is basic, but well run, clean and cheap - around 30-35 euro a night. Its near the bund and Nanjing Road E metro. The standard rooms are the best option, cheaper rooms are not worth the saving.
Staff are helpful and the hotel does a lot of please for a Chinese 3 star. Wifi does not work in the hotel so staff will provide a cable. Japanese restaurant around the corner (left and left) does good food. The hotel taxi guys are honest and efficient. Very good central location.
Some annoying touts on Sichuan road nearby. If walking to Nanjing road metro take a parallel street to avoid the Chinese tourist crowds and touts.
