Excellent accommodations and tasty breakfast! The right place to stay in Shanghai, in case of to be near downtown it is not a must.

The hotel itself is nice and perfectly comparable to most brand name hotels. Clean rooms, well trained staff, good breakfast. The location of your meetings/activities will make or break your visit at this hotel.

Shanghai can be not a very friendly city compared to all the other cities that one can visit in China. This hotel and most especially it's staff certainly maintained this status. Accommodations were fine but it is not really near anything. I would look elsewhere for a hotel. It did not live up to the Marriott standards.

Have stayed in this hotel several times when I visit Shanghai, main reason being that it is decent, has a god corporate rate and is located near to where I need to be. Other than that it is unremarkable, and in fact rather old from the looks of the lobby and the view of the facade from the room.

On the plus side - very good service, proximity to the domestic airport, convenient and good bakery on the ground floor and good Chinese restaurant (Dynasty - can be considered for business dinner) within walking distance.

The room, gym and breakfast are Ll average by Chinese standards.
