Located in the heart of the old shanghai city and its proximity to some of the main trade centres, Galaxy hotel offers very good locational advantage to the business traveller. The size of the rooms are pretty big, but needs some renovation in the Bathroom. A very good work desk and internet are added advantage. The breakfast was very good, however did not get chance to go to the restaurants there. The housekeeping staff was very courteous and ready to serve you at all the times. All in all a very good value for money and would definitely stay there for my next visit to Shanghai, if for the trade fairs.

Worst hotel on our tour but not a total disaster. Reasonably clean. Mattress totally sagged. Room very tired. Still have not cleaned up the call girls on the top floor. Service non existent. Hotel is a nice building and has possibilities but needs new management and a facelift.

The hotel room is clean. The reception staff is not always pleasant to deal with. The buffet breakfast is great. The corridors have low celing. The carpet on the dining area needs replacement. The location is not good for tourists. It is surrounded by highways, so if you want to explore nearby, there's not much to see. A block away are apartment buildings for the locals and small stores and restaurants selling authentic chinese food all written in Mandarin. There are public buses roaming around, but if you don't speak or read Mandarin, you can't go far. Most if not all that we've asked information don't understand English. The hotel is very far from the downtown area.

I stayed in this hotel twice and second time, it was sub zero temperature. I was very much worried about climate since the temperature less than zero. I planned to be in room for the Sunday considering the climate. But hotel staff encouraged me and arranged a tour of shanghai. It was a very happy moment and nice experience. With out thier encouragement, I would have just stayed in the hotel room. It was really a nice tour and enjoyed the architechtural city - Shanghai whatever I missed during first time.

The hotel is very nice and having all amenities. I just enjoyed staying in that hotel.
