Traveled through Shanghai on a recent business trip and stayed at this property for two nights. The hotel is in a nice area, close to Jiaotong University and the French Concession district. The area around the hotel is very nice with shops and restaurants located nearby. Cabs are easily available in and around the hotel to get to other parts of the Shanghai or the airports, so transportation wise, this is a conveniently located hotel. The property itself seems to be an older property with dated decor. A little below par for what I would have expected of a Crown Plaza. The staff is professional and efficient and gets the job done. My room, located on a higher floor, overlooked a row of apartments, so the view was nothing to crow about. My room was on the smaller side for a Crown Plaza. The space constraint also translated to the bathroom which appeared a bit dated. Other than the cramped space, the room furnishings were generally clean and functional. The room itself was quiet and I enjoyed a good night's sleep on both days that I was there. Didn't visit any of the onsite restaurants, so I cannot comment on the quality of the food or service. All in all, a decent experience. However, I was expecting a little bit more because of the Crowne Plaza brand.
