Mum and I stayed here 10 nights around Chinese New Year and thought it was great. Our's was the classic room and we asked for a high floor with a view and placed on level 17, facing the Oriental Pearl Tower. It was lovely to wake up to. Negatives: the room was a bit small and we didn't have a sofa in it (we also booked my grandparents a couple of nights in the same room and theirs didn't have a view but had a sofa). Also, I couldn't get wifi access from my room even if I wanted to pay - they said we'd have to upgrade to a club room for that. I just used free wifi from the lobby. We thought the beds were super comfortable (we prefer firm) and the rooms were serviced twice a day. The location was perfect. Nanjing East Rd (aka the pedestrian walk) has plenty of great traditional Chinese restaurants as well as more westernized places, depending what mood you're in. Also walking distance to Huai Hai Rd and People's Square although a taxi is convenient and cheap. I'd definitely consider staying here again next time I return to Shanghai.
