My husband and I stayed in room 2105 for Chinese new year (5 days in total) and were most impressed with Les Suites orient. The hotel itself in beautifully decorated with several areas of relaxation which is well required when staying in a busy city such as Shanghai. The room had a fantastic view, both of the bund and the pearl tower. It was full of luxury touches such as the extra large bed, heated toilet seat and rainwater shower as well as extremely good quality, stylish furnishing. The blinds, lights and air conditioning could all be controlled from a bedside panel so you didn't even have to move. The well stocked mini bar, complimentary bottled water and fruit bowl was a welcome addition.
Location wise the hotel doesn't disappoint. It's right outside a ferry terminal that takes you across the river to the pearl tower for less than £0.25. Yu yuan garden temple and markets is a 10 minute walk, so is Nanjing road. The concierge are also very helpful when taxis are required. Most taxi drivers don't speak English and can only read Mandarin but the hotel staff always helped by writing our destinations in chinese and explaining to the driver where we needed to get.
The staff were generally very friendly and helpfull. Most spoke a good level of English and had a good understanding of the local area.
Overall, Les Suites Orient is fantastic. It's a beautiful and calm hotel in a very busy metropolis that I would most highly recommend.

Got bought two nights in the hotel as a Christmas present from my Girlfriend. We stayed in the Shanghai suite overlooking the river and honestly don't think that you could have got a better view of Shanghai. Ended up ordering room service one night as decided we weren't going to get a better view to look at, the food was delicious and was very pleasantly shocked when we got the bill. The room was incredible, very clean and with as many little gadgets as you could imagine. Breakfast in the morning was good with a wide selection of food and drinks. I couldn't of had a better hotel to stay in for my first experience of shanghai.

Wow, this is an amazingly wonderful hotel. Stayed January 22-25. The staff here are top notch. Very customer focused and very very kind and polite. They all spoke quite good English.
This hotel has a great position on the Bund.
The rooms are well laid out, comfortable and very clean. We stayed on the 10th floor. We were kindly upgraded to a Bund facing view. The view indeed was terrific.
The Breakfast buffet has a wide selection of food- you will not go hungry.
I had trouble finding a pharmacy open over the Chinese New Year, and James Zhang, the concierge hopped in a taxi with me and helped me find a pharmacy. Never have I had such excellent service and personal attention from a hotel.
Do let the front door staff hail a cab for you. My husband hailed a cab on his own, and the taxi driver took the LONG way around to get to Pudong, and the trip was twice as costly.
Not sure how this is not the number one hotel in Shanghai.
Joseph Pi is a wonderful Manager of this hotel, and was actively checking on guests to make sure they were well cared for.
Check In was fast, as was the check out. The front desk staff are very professional.
The lounge is a great place to sit and relax. They keep it well stocked with complimentary coffee, tea and fruit.
I want to keep this place a secret so that we will always have a room here. I am a little afraid that as word gets out about the best hotel in Shanghai, its going to get over run with people. But, such a wonderful hotel deserves a glowing review.

I stayed at Bund Studio.
Not spacious, but enough space for two.

From bathroom, you can see the view of Bund.
If it's your first time in Shanghai, you will be impressed.

However, there's a building, commercial bank, next to the hotel.
You can see the inside of office, so they also can see you in bathroom.

There's TV in bathroom, but you can not see clearly when you're bathing.

Room is not so clean.
I saw cigarette ash in bathroom, floor dusty.
They can do better.

There's no smoking room nor non-smoking room.
They let you smoke if you want to.
So you can smell the cigarette especially when customer before you smokes.

Towels and bath robes are clean but old.
They say there's welcome fruits, but I found none.

When there's TV on next room, you can hear it.

Lounge is really nice, but printer tends to be out of paper often.
No VPN on PCs, so you can not check FB if you do not know other tricks.
Cookies in lounge was delicious, but foods in restaurant was not good and expensive.
You can find many other places that offer you great foods with reasonable price in Shanghai.

Breakfast was OK.
Mainly western. Many breads, pancakes, eggs, fruits etc.

Services are normal if you think about the price.
They do what they should do if you ask, but not much more than that.
Some staffs are nice.

Totally, it was OK, but I felt not worth the price.
I really hope that they clean rooms more properly and keep some rooms for non-smoking.
