I booked this hotel for 2 days for 3 people because I had some points to use with Country Inns and Suites. I emailed this hotel directly asking if they had a room that would sleep 3 adults in 3 beds. I got a reply back that said, that it would be no problem - a roll out bed was available, and no cost was mentioned. I then booked on the hotel website, adding in the comments section that I need a room with 2 beds and a roll out bed. I was quoted a discounted price for 3 adults with my points, and I (thought) I was good to go.
When I got to the hotel, the gal behind the counter said "They didn't tell you there was an extra charge for the roll out bed, did they?" I said no, but she said she would not delete the charge. I went to the room with the clerk as she brought up the extra bed. THERE WAS NO PLACE IN THE ROOM FOR THE ROLL OUT BED TO FIT! I asked if another, larger, room was available and that I would pay the extra cost. She said no larger room with 2 queen size beds existed! I then asked why wasn't I told this, and she replied that this had never happened to her before-(I bet). We had to move furniture around to squeeze in the roll out bed. The sheets for the roll out were also for a queen size bed and over 2x the size of the roll out.
When I checked out and I was asked if everything was OK, by the large desk clerk. I said that I wasn't told of the extra charge and that it was impossible to move around in the room with the extra bed. His reply was that the Country Inns website was at fault. I told him that I had contacted the hotel DIRECTLY, and it was not the fault of the company website. I also said that the maid had not made up the roll out. He replied "Really? I'll make a note of that" while he didn't make a move to do anything.
I had stayed in this hotel when it had first opened and it was much nicer and better run. If you want a nicer, cheaper place, stay in the Sleep Inn next door to it. If you want a much nicer place for the same money, stay in the Hampton Inn across the road. I have recently stayed in both of those places and they are muchbetter.
