I travel quite a bit on business but this was my first trip to Alabama.
The Montgomery Townplace is a clean and relatively new suite hotel. The accomodations seemed to be aimed at the lower end of the business/longer stay market, because some amenities are lacking. For example, there's no breakfast (I should have read the hotel listing closer) and the rooms are on the small side. My biggest gripe concerned the soundproofing between the rooms. The walls are pretty thin and you'll be able to hear your neighbor's TV better than your own. When the TV was shut down the snoring began.
Location is good - just off I-85 and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Unfortunately rush hour traffic in the immediate vicinity is horrible.
Many guests seemed to be military personnel associated with the nearby Air Force base.
If you're on a tight budget but still want a kitchen and refrigerator the Townplace Suites may be acceptable to you IF you bring a set of earplugs.
