“Suited Our Needs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 December 2011

Stayed for four nights at the Days Inn Midtown, using it as a home base while we were in Montgomery. My parents and I had adjacent rooms on the right side of the property with external access doors.

Conveniently located near I-85 and within walking distance to a shopping centre that included Walmart, Ross Dress for Less, Office Depot and eating places, as well as fast food joints and – importantly – Waffle House. The rooms were basic, decent sized and clean, the bed large and comfortable with a good mattress. We stayed in rooms that faced the outside but the courtyard looked nice and green. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wi-fi was easy to access and worked well. Heater in room was good. Bathroom small but shower was fine. We were told by locals that the area was dodgy but we didn’t encounter any issues or feel unsafe at any time. The hotel is older but you get what you pay for – eg less than $50AUD a night!

“Ok stopover, good pool”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2011

rooms are average, not much tv selection, but very large grassy courtyard and good pool with several umbrellas for shade, plus a grill someone used for cooking.

Breakfast was several donut choices, 4 cereals, grits, oatmeal, toast, bagels, english muffins, fruit, juice, coffee, milk, and (frozen, thawed) waffles you could toast.

Several fast food restaurants are less than half a block away. Hotel is right off I 85.

“Yikes”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 May 2010

Stayed for only one night following lengthy flight from UK. Room well equipped but not very clean. Sheets were clean but afraid to look under the sheets as worried about what I would discover and I really needed to sleep. Bedcovers looked grubby, room didn't smell very fresh and carpet not very clean at edges. Stains on the bathroom wall very off-putting. Ok for quick stop over but wouldn't liked to have stayed longer. The meal we had at the fish restaurant over the road (Special D's I think) was awful. Fellow travellers reported that the BBQ restaurant was much better.

I am very pleased with my stay at this hotel. The staff was very courteous and helpful, the room was immaculate, and the location was perfect! It is convenient to the Interstate and downtown and has plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

“Ok motel if you need the lowest price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2008

The best things about Days Inn Midtown Montgomery are the low price and convenient location. It's an ok motel for the low price. I stayed here for 2 nights in the fall. It is an older motel that's been refurbished. It has exterior entrances. The room was clean enough, the mattress was bulging out a bit at the sides but comfortable enough. The bathroom shower was in good shape, with solid marble-like walls. There was plenty of warm water but I think the shower had something to keep the water from getting real hot, because it wasn't ever burning hot like the sink faucet got. I paid $44 a night plus $6 tax.

The maid didn't resupply the shampoo and soap one day, but I got more at the front desk. The free breakfast was fairly typical of other Days Inns, with 3 types of cereal, packages of oatmeal, apples, orange and apple juice, toast, donuts, bagels, and waffles you could pop in the toaster. The breakfast room was large enough. Front desk staff was friendly. Wireless internet access was trouble free and fast; I had no connection problems. Stayed in November so didn't have to try the AC. The window doesn't open. The motel is conveniently located within a mile of several fast food and other restaurants. There's also a Walmart superstore within a mile and the motel is a short drive from Gunter Annex of Maxwell Air Force Base. The Walmart is in the "Midtown Mall" which also includes a Chik-A-Fil fastfood restaurant specializing in chicken sandwiches. The Chik-A-Fil was usually mobbed - so many cars backed up that they interfered with traffic in the mall parking lot.

  • Liked — Good breakfast
  • Disliked — Older hotel shows some wear and tear
