My family and I stayed here in mid-August 2011. We chose this hotel because it is pet-friendly and we needed a place to stop for the night on our way from Houston, TX to Washington, D.C.
Upon arrival, everything looked decent. There is no free breakfast at this hotel like there is at Holiday Inn Express.
One of the first things that bothered me was when my 1 year old daughter was crawling around the room, her knees were BLACK within 5 minutes of being there. We stay at hotels often, and getting soiled knees and feet from walking/crawling on hotel carpets isn't uncommon, but this was BAD! When I say they were black, I am not kidding you. So, needless to say, their carpets could use a good cleaning!
The second thing that bothered me was the television didn't work properly. We would change the channel and start watching a show and after a few minutes, the screen would freeze up. So, watching TV was not something we did in our hotel room. By this time, our kids were fast asleep and we didn't think it was worth it to drag them out of bed, pack everything back up again and move rooms.
Third, as my mother pulled down her bedsheets to turn in for the night, she saw little red stains on her sheets! It looked like little speckles of blood (although I can't say this for sure. It would have been anything, really.) So, either the sheets were stained, or weren't changed! Either way, they should not have been used in a hotel room. We called the front desk for a new set of sheets and it took them almost 15 minutes to come to our room with an extra set. When the housekeeping attendant arrived at our room, he looked at us and said, "You need new sheets!?!" He didn't offer to make the bed up for us - just handed them over. I thought for sure that after us finding soiled sheets, they would rush to our room to smooth things over. Not this place!
Lastly, my mother and I both (on two separate occasions) cut out legs on the corner of the bed. It was like a part of the steel frame was sticking out from the bottom of the bed. It was hidden by the bed skirt so you couldn't see it until you knocked your leg into it. It hurt!
On a positive note, the front desk staff was friendly. But, friendliness doesn't mean quality! This hotel needs a massive remodel. The rooms are outdated and their housekeeping staff needs better training.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone until they make some major changes.
