This is not a 5 star hotel but it doesn't pretend to be. Clean rooms and close to USS Alabama Memorial Park. Good restaurants right down the road. Very helpful staff.

My client booked me here for a few nights when downtown hotels were sold out. The good news is that my room was very clean: sheets, counters, bathroom. That is what it can offer. The rest of the experience was lackluster. The room has very dated furnishings, a TV with poor reception and few channels, a restaurant where service is not a top priority and a staff that varies greatly from good to very unaware. If you need to stay here, it can work. I would never book this when other options were available.

Second night of bad Best Western Hotels. Hotel staff was unhelpful at check-in. Room had french fries on floor and ants in bed on on walls/floor. I explained the situation and they just sprayed a little raid on the baseboard. No coffee in lobby and NO breakfast like usual Best Western hotels. Hotel is currently renting our rooms to foreign dock/ship workers working in Mobile Bay so lots of traffic at night (LOUD). Pool was cloudy and dirty.

My husband and I stayed at the Battleship Inn twice in a week as that was a midpoint for our destination. It's in a great location next to the highway, and very close to the Battleship. Living in a landlocked area, it was amazing to look out our window and see the Gulf! It looks as if the rooms have been renovated recently, and they did a great job. Everything is new, and the beds are SO comfortable! The only thing is, CHECK to make sure your room has the essentials right after check-in. The first night we stayed there, we were missing our iron and ironing board. A week later, we were missing the coffee carafe, and no shampoo both times! Like other reviewers, I don't recommend the restaurant either. The first night we stayed there we ate at the "Capitain's Table" where the crab cakes are mostly cornbread with a little bit of crab mixed in. Drive about a mile east to Felix's Fish Camp where the locals eat and you'll get a much better meal. Not sure Felix's serves breakfast but it was an awesome dinner with a great view. We'll stay at the Battleship Inn again, but will bring our own shampoo next time! :)
