We stayed at the Best Western Battleship Inn this past weekend. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the room and grounds were clean. The pillows were wonderful! The Captain's Table restaurant had excellent food and friendly staff. Dinner prices were a bit steep, so we had dinner elsewhere; but breakfast was very good. It's right next to the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, so you can't ask for more if you plan on touring the battleship, submarine, etc.

Rooms are nicely remodeled and very clean. The property is very nicely maintained, including nice grounds, and fresh paint. All the key things are here. Comfortable beds, coffee, iron, wi-fi etc. It's also located in a good, safe area (near the battleship Alabama).

The best part is what some other reviewers call "dated." It was built when motel architecture was at its pinnacle. Everything is practical and convenient for the traveler. It has exterior corridors, so you can park near your room. This means you don't have to haul your stuff through hallways to an elevator. You can keep an eye on your car too. Did you forget to bring something in? It's just a few steps back to the car.

In almost every respect this motel is much more pleasant than the chain motel boxes one finds along the highway. All the staff we encountered were very helpful and courteous.

We will definitely return.

A great hotel if you are traveling I-10 and need a place to stay that is clean, comfortable, and convenient. Our room was spacious. It included a fridge and the all important coffeemaker. Apparently pets are allowed which you would have never guessed as our room had absolutely no odors. A restaurant is steps away from the lobby and has good food. There is even a battleship within walking distance of the hotel and tours are available.

My family and I stayed here during a 3 day fishing trip.My father and husband put the boat in on the causeway .This hotel was the the only one other than going to Daphn Al.Since my family and I like to par-take in dinner at the John ward's Capitain Table.We decide to stay here, which was a bad mistake again.Last year around the same time we stayed here and had the same problem. (Ants) My mother went to her room and decide to take a nap and pulled back the covers and had a bed of ants under the the spread.We notified front desk and the gave her another room.My grandmother who is 92 years of age had ants in her room also.Now on the moring of checkout my husband and father was head to Dauphin Island,Al to fish and we had ants all over the garbage can and uneaten food.theses rooms were over $300.00 for one night something should be done about the ants.Never again my family and I will never stay here again.
