We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights. The location is good, facing the melaka straights and within easy walking distance of the town square and the historical sites. The room was spacious, light, immaculately clean and very comfortable. The staff were fantastic - their efficient, courteous service helped make our stay very enjoyable.

Stayed 2 nights over at this hotel over the chinese new year holidays. The room we got was facing Melaka straits, a good view and at a high floor. The room itself was spacious, with tons of room to move about. The bed comfortable and air-conditioning was good. The bathroom has the standard Holiday Inn amenities. The pool was rather small, but a good place to relax for the afternoon, however the number of kids there makes it rather tough to have a quite moment.

There are certainly room for the hotel for improvement. First of all, the breakfast timing was rather short. Breakfast was served till 10.30 am, that leaves very little time for us to sleep in. The food was cleared by around 10.20am and the refilling stops at around 10.15am. The steam bun that we had was cold, the meat filling in it was still frozen! the cooking staff at the buffet can do with a little more smile instead of putting up the standard poker face. Food was the same throughout the stay, with no variation at all. We were seated at the smoking area, the number of crows around makes it impossible to leave the table unattended. I had a casual chat with one of the patrons there and was told that he had brought up the suggestion of putting up some sort of netting 2 years back and still nothing was being done about it. On the 2nd day we hung the sign for our room to be made up and went out for a stroll around town. when we returned in the afternoon (about 4pm) our room was not even made up. We had to resort to calling up the reception for them to get someone to make up our room.

Holiday Inn in Melaka stands out by the virtue of its excellent hospitality and courteous staff. The rooms are clean and well maintained, nothing flashy but definitely very comfortable.Moreover most of the rooms overlook the Malaka straits or have a fantastic view of the city either way its a treat for the eyes . Would definitely recommend the local cuisines at their restaurants . we didn't try the Spas available as we were on a short trip but a dip in the pool after a tiring day spent shopping was a delight. Lastly, the hotel is just a stone's throw from Makhota & Dalwat Pehlawan shopping malls and the hotel has its own bus to ferry guests to and fro from the city centre.

Rooms are fresh and bright. Lobby as well. Fantastic view over  Straits of Melaka. Swimmingpool got the same fantastic view.

Spa / massage is a delight.

Staff very alert. 

(In room) dining at Holiday-inn is great: Variety, quality and service compared to price hardly can't beat any other place.
