“Bad breakfast, lizards and mosquito”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

For RM 20 the breakfast they serve was terrible, at night we were attacked by mosquito's and lizard doping were every where including on the bed .

The beach was pretty decent for Malacca, beach chairs were good. No beach activity or pub, there is a BBQ area but mosquito will lift you up once the sun goes down. Nice wind, pool is clear. lots of trees for shades and good for sun bating. Many shops around with sea food, but cleanness is not there

Room Tip: Only the rooms nearer to the oceans are quieter. For the price there are many other apartments near...

“Not bad ....”

Just got back from Sbh today. We have 4 chalets for ourselves. All rooms are connected to each other , which make it easier for the 16 of us. One special thing the chalet has a back door that make it easier to access to ur car as u can park directly behind in. Easier for luggages. Nice village view, fronting the straits of melaka. Not suitable for swimming as the sa is polluted and gv jellyfish. Breakfast is mediocre... the only food that is acceptable is the toast! Despite of all that, we had great fun as the view and the weather is really nice. The place is full of coconut trees and palm trees, swing and chairs to lounge around. Good for family gatherings.

“It Could Have Been Better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Since all hotels in Jonker Street, the city centre and Melaka Raya were fully-booked for family room, we were more than happy to have found out that there's a room for us at Shah's Beach Resort in Tanjung Kling, some 15mins away by car from the places of attractions in Malacca town. We were informed over the phone that the only room available is with the least attractive view but we were okay with it since we desperately needed a family room in Malacca. Eventhough there's no deposit or credit card given to secure the room, the staff was nice enought to keep her words and reserve the room for us right up till just after 3:00pm when we arrived.

Our room was located on the front part of the resort, closer to the road. We get to park our car right outside our room. The room has a nice concept of a traditional Malay house but the furniture and the interior badly need some upgrading work. The bedding has some funny smell and I noticed the bedsheet were stained as well. The toilet and the bathroom look kind of eerie and badly need to be repaired too. Not all of our may windows could be locked but we just took our chance with it.

The entire resort is actually very beautiful with a well-maintained garden and pool. The best part about this resort is it is fronting the Straits of Malacca and eventhough there's no beach but you can just chill out on the many chairs. I reckon the place would be suitable for a big group gathering as it even has a smal field and volleyball court. There's also a spa but I find the price rather steep.

Breakfast was simple but has a taste of home-cooked food consist of fried rice, fried kueteow, toast with butter and jam, some fruits, cereal and the regular beverage of coffee, tea and cordial.

The staff that I came across were all helpful and friendly. I like this place but I really hope they do some major upgrading of the rooms and change the entire bedding, change the tiles of the toilet and clean up the toilet ceiling as well. It's a pity if the management lets this place just deteriorate with time....

Room Tip: Request for garden view rooms near the pool, they are lovely but not the ones directly opposite the...

“Its time for renovation...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

I had been here for second time already, first on 2009 during bachelor time. For this second trip this is only the place in Melaka i believe provide very good accommodation for elder like my father whose had stroke and cannot walk properly. So this resort very good from outside, you can park behind your chalet and can walk to the sea.

But inside is quite terrible especially in their bathroom, really need for renovation, toilet bowl look stinky and some of water basin don't have any water come out ( i booked 3 chalet for my family ) So this resort only good to enjoy a view outside the chalet, their park and sea.

Breakfast very minimum, don't have many choice at all. The only have fried mee hoon, bread and scramble egg and some cereal.

Room Tip: family room near the sea

“Beautiful place, except....”

We booked 4 rooms for a night's stay at SBResort with the extended family. We loved it the minute we set foot in that place.. the attap roofed wooden chalets which had lovely little verandahs facing the well-manicured & landscaped gardens, or the pool. The many coconut trees provided shade. The rooms were quite clean, but what was really disappointing was that the bathrooms looked like they hadnt been scrubbed or washed in years!!

It rained the next morning, and so after breakfast we checked out the quaint little heritage library & museum.

There really is no beach as there's the silt trap but you get a pleasant view of the sea, and they do have a pool. The staff were pleasant, friendly & helpful.

If they do something about the state of their bathrooms, I would consider going back there again.
