The hotel is located in a great spot and the staff is very friendly but the reception desk staff is terrible. The rooms were below average and they said they would charge us for shampoo and conditioner. What kind of hotel does that? It was EXTREMELY loud all night because of a club that has opened up next door. The food and breakfast at the hotel was mediocre and they didn't have any chai. How can a hotel be in India and not serve chai for breakfast?

the location is great and the rooms ok, but the atmosphere at the villa i found rather cold. We certainly don't have to make friends with everyone and everywhere, but in other hotels/resorts we experienced much more openness and friendliness. The breakfast could and should also be much better at those rates, the quality of the restaurant in general is rather poor. I would definitely not go back there.

This is my 2nd visit to Vila Goesa - only this time was a longer and more leisurely trip.

We were there for 6 days

Plus points for Vila Goesa

1. Great Location on the Calangute-Bage road - access to all the madness of these two beaches (But still quiet/ secluded enough to chill on your own)
2. Lots of great restaurants in Baga/ Calangute/ Candolim close by
3. Direct beach access - private walkway of around 150 m from resort to beach
4. Great Swimming Pool
5. Friendly staff at the rooms & reception - happy to give local inputs
6. Very simple and smooth check-in/ reservation process
7. At this price - great value
8. Everything is easily available around the place

Some negatives
1. Probably should not include breakfast in the room charge - the breakfast is an apology - guests are allowed to have "either" canned juice or an omellette (only omelette by the way, in case you want your egg any other way, its charges) - keeping in mind there are so many good restaurants nearby, we just went and ate out, so it was not so bad - its just that when "breakfast included" is mentioned we expected the normal buffet breakfast spread
2. Safety Deposit lockers probably needs some maintenance - the one I used was rusted

Overall Goa experience - stay away from Calangute and Baga beach - hire a bike/ car and explore Arambol, Morjem (Ashwen - divine), Vagator and Anjuna

Don't miss out on Panaji - great old world charm and great food

We were previously stayin on calungute in some high priced hotel which had the worst imaginabe crowd. there were drunk guys stumbling outside and wierd mid aged guys staring at us in the hotel itself. We stumbled upon "Vila Goesa" while driving from calungute to baga and am so glad we did !! It was quiet,serene, romantic and very few people were living ther.The staff is very polite and helpful. They even let us order room service at 11:30 in the night. Never said no for any request.we left the car keys near the pool by mistake and they collected it safely. The restaurant has the most amazing Chicken a la king and spagetti bolognaise(Try it !!).The alcohol rates are cheap as other shacks offer. The place was very clean and well maintained.
I can never forget the endless hours we spent in the pool and the private entrance to the beach.I fell in love with this place and never wanted to come back to work :( Its truly a Paradise on earth ... perfect getaway place for couples..
