We had very bad experience at Dona Julia. There is no security for guests, anyone can enter and threaten guests, supervisor and other assistants stand like dumb-headed people.

Supervisor(a lady) suggested us to hire a jeepsi from a person named as santosh and then we were threatened to pay Rs 3000 for 14 hrs. The person misbehaved with all women in the group and warned that nobody will leave Goa alive if we refuse to pay that amount. She and the owner of that jeepsi insulted all of us.


We had a train to catch, otherwise we would have gone to the police. Hope Dona julia make sure that guests are not insulted and threatened to death. Also wish if Dona Julia can hire some educated and well behaved supervisor.

We really enjoyed our stay. Ms. Helen was very hospitable. The hotel is in a beautiful and scenic location... just steps from the beach. Rooms were cozy, but not fancy. Service was good. My wife loved the pool and bar. What a great place and a good value! Thank you Ms. Helen and Lloyd!

Very conveniently located, amidst a lot of greenery the locattion is simply great and the swimming pool makes it a delight. The owner is very helpful and we had a wonderful stay in the resort.
Rooms are decent and are regularly cleaned. Scooters on hire are available just from behind the resort.
Definitely would suggest this hotel.

We came across Dona Julia after a lot of searching for a good hotel. We were glad we came across this hotel as it was total value for money. The location is the best part. Its just a 2 min walk from the beach. This is the start of Calangute beach and is not very crowded. The crowd is better with a mix of foreigners and Indians and the ambience there is great. The hotel is also close to the market place. The best part of this hotel is that it is in the middle of everything and yet retains its tranquility.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The pool looks good and the hotel is very green. The only problem was that the service was very slow. Whether we ordered for breakfast or candles, it always took time. For some reason they seemed short of staff. Other than that it was a great experience.
