Stayed here the last two years now and wouldnt stay anywhere else.....rooms are clean and spacious. the location is perfect just minutes from the beach with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby......Laura the owner is pleasant and helpful and cant do enough to make your stay a pleasurable one. Booked to go back next year :)

Traveling to a place like goa on a budget trip is not easy. And even more difficult is finding a good place within the budget you have.
The White House is an excellent place to stay. Extremely hospitable family. Alex, his wife and their daughter are a delight to stay with. The rooms are clean, neat and spectacular. Extremely delicious breakfast on their menu which is a treat to enjoy. Close to the Calangute beach, super market, medical store and plenty of eat out options. This is one place you must stay at

"The White House"

Advantages:
1. Close to the Calangute Beach, apprx. 5 min walk
2. Rooms, bathrooms are clean and well maintained

Disadvantages:

1. Basic necessities like Back-up power supply(inverter) connection not available. So if u have booked an AC Room and there is no power supply...then ur AC room is worst than non-AC room, coz...its really very hot there.
When we stayed there...and there was no power supply..when enquired abt it...the answer we got was...."doesn't power go off in ur city as well..."

2. No in-house restaurant...so would never get ur morning cuppa of tea. After enquiring around we came to know that there are couple of restaurants that offer stay+breakfast at very much the same price.

3. No toiletries provided...

4. Do not expect hot water 24*7

5. Mosquito repellant coils not provided when asked for.

6. Room tariifs are not published anywhere...even if u search on the internet u wont get....they have managed to keep it unrevealed.
Room tariffs vary depending upon peak/off season and even if it is off-season room tariff also depends upon weekday/weekends ....So bottom-line "BARGAIN".....i think 700-800 is a decent amt for non-AC room and 900-1000 for AC room.

7. The transport service provided by the hotel is quite expensive...Rs 300 for 10km drive till Mapusa(r u kidding!!!!).......kindly ask the road-side cabbie drivers for a better bargain....

8. Important thing...there is no call bell or intercom(read: phone) facility for room service.
Most of the time u would keep waiting for the lady owner to come out of her house.

We had also read the reviews on this ste when opted for White House...but there are certain other things also which need to be considered. Hopefully, this review was helpful to all the readers

Stayed at the White House for 4 nts. Good location at the end of Holiday Street, surprisingly quiet yet plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The room was a good size and clean with nice balcony. Owners very helpful and friendly and rates good value. Access to beach nearby few minutes walk but not the best part of beach. Very easy to get taxi up to Candolim which in my opinion is a nicer part of beach. Would recommend.
