Charlie, a taxi driver that hangs outside Paradise Village and internet shop, suggested NV Beach Resort. I'm so glad he did. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I stayed in a non aircon room which had a fan, it was a very hot time of year to go but I found it fine without aircon. NV is a family run business, one of the first one's to set up on the beach. They are all very friendly and made me feel really welcome. I was travelling on my own and was a little worried that I wouldn't be safe but there are 2 family dogs that believe me won't let anyone in that isn't staying at the guesthouse. They are also very friendly, so don't worry and I don't like dogs.
The resort is a 2 minute walk to the beach where they have a shack that has very tasty food and lovely staff, Gensh & Anita. Turn right and you're heading to Baga beach about 30 minutes walk, very crowed if you like that sort of thing. Before you get there you can turn off at Beach Road where there are lots of restaurants and shops. If you turned left you would be heading to Candolim Beach. Don't make the same mistake I did, I was told by a local it would take 15 minutes to walk there, an hour and 20 later (and I walk fast) I arrived, blisters and all. It was a nice walk all the same but I was deffinately ready for my dinner by then.
The walk into town takes about 10 minutes, I would advise to leave the guesthouse before sunset as there are no lights down the road and it was pretty scary walking down there on my own, it's fine if you are with someone else. So I took a tuk-tuk back every night R50. There is an internet shop at the end of the road turn right. It was the fastest connection I found and very helpfull owners. If you turn left out of the road you head into town.
I would definately stay here again.
