We stayed here for 8 days and loved every one. The staff are so amazing. I had my birthday during the stay and they put a big bunch of flowers and fruit in the room. The garden is so beautiful and it feels like you can just escape from the crazy parts of India. Nice to see the dogs and the food is good.

Well its was my 2nd time at the tamarind again,this time we stayed for 3weeks,we loved it so much that we recommended the place to our friends who we met on holiday 2008..they liked what they saw and came with us!!! I must say we had a fantastic time AGAIN,the hotel is away from the hustle and bussle very peaceful place,we met some fantastic people whom we keep in contact with,the staff couldnt do enough for us..thank you JON,ROWAN,SMILER,POOLMAN simply everyone,especially those who had to cancel there plans and stay on working looking after us due to the volcanic ash disprution we ended up staying an extra week...and enjoyed every min...we were kept informed id say very minimal but that was no fault of the hotels but our Rep!!!!We kept the same room and was given the same service.The only fault i have with this hotel is the could put a little fridge in and maybe upgrade the fans a little,oh and maybe bedside lights abit higher as the get very hotel.I love this hotel and staff xx Thank you all at The Tamerind.

we stayed here for 2 weeks and had a nice time. the staff were excellent and chatty. From the hotel you have to get taxis to go most places, this didnt bother us at all we enjoyed getting a tuc tuc. They have a hotel libery which has plenty of books and games. The food was ok but we prefered to travel out for food. The hotel near a beautiful white church which you must check out. We liked to travel out a lot to the beaches so we never really went in the pool that much but it seemed clean just some leaves in there from the trees. We would not recommend a trip to baga water park

Having read the negative reviews about The Tamarind, I was a little apprehensive. However, we had a fantastic time and I would suggest if you are used to budget travelling and are simply looking for a clean, relaxing base then the Tamarind is perfect!

Firstly, if you pay budget prices do not expect 5 star. If you are looking for a relaxing resort, off the beaten track - somewhere to chill out after a day at the beach or sight seeing - then this is the place for you.

I am sure some estimations of amounts spent on taxi's have been inflated reading other reviews! It cost 100 ruppees into Anjuna, which is little over £1. If you are planning to travel further afield it is probably worth hiring a bike - do as the locals do!... Of course there is the local bus which does indeed stop outside the hotel, and is indeed full of 'local people with no air con' as another reviewee pointed out - god forbid! We found the location of The Tamarind, set 2km out of town was a welcome reflief from the hustle and bustle, rather than a negative.

If your idea of a perfect hooliday is All Inclusive in Benidorm then you probably won't like the Tamarind - head to Baga or Calungute - Brit-pack central! If you want to embrace the hippy, laid back culture of Goa and Anjuna - please do consider the Tamarind and I am sure you will have a great time.
