After reading several reviews questioning the cleanliness of the Inn, I have to say this is a very old building with lots of rooms and wood, and those of you who have complained about cobwebs and/or dust should think about the age of the building, how old it is, how hard it must be to keep all of it shining and spotless, especially when shining and spotless is not what this place is all about. If you want that, go to a new hotel somewhere. I am sure you will find something to complain about there as well. This hotel, we call it the Old Lady, has so much charm, the food is wonderful, Cynthia the Innkeeper cannot be any more informative, charming, funny or personable. When you go to an old, old, old hotel or bed and breakfast, why should you expect something slick? This is all about southern charm, company, friends, food, comfort, relaxation and ambiance. It's not about sterility, folks. I happen to personally know these folks spend a lot of time taking care of the place, and of the guests. It's a wonderful place, and I hope you people out there dont fall for the complainers and the naysayers....go to the Mentone Inn if you just want a relaxing Southern time.
