Everywhere we went in this hotel, the staff smiled, greeted us and asked how we were enjoying our stay. I was very impressed.

If you stay here, take the time to walk through the village. The houses are all different and interesting. The landscaping is top-notch and the sidewalks extend throughout the residential zone. If you're out after 1:00 PM, there are even models open.

We chose the top floor and the hotel was not very full. Still, we were given an adjoining room with the room next door occupied. We were awoken on Sunday morning by kids trying to come through the door while Mom was in the shower. They got a good scare when I reciprocated!

Breakfast was fine, the beds and linens were comfortable. The room was clean and properly stocked. The only dirty area I noticed was the elevator.

If you need a full suite, this is a good alternative to the Embassy Suites downtown because it there are restaurants and a bar you can walk to. Pricing seems to run about the same.

We moved from the Holiday Inn Research Park after a less than stellar attempt at check in. Thank goodness! This hotel is in the most quaint, picturesque little development called Village of Providence. It's a mixture of residential, hotel, business and restaurant properties. It's like its own tiny little town. There's a Mellow Mushroom pizza place, a nice sportsbar with lots of outdoor seating, an Italian restaurant and a Thai restaurant all within walking distance. This development is close to the Rocket Center and the other attractions we were interested in seeing.

It's a very new hotel, with little signs of wear. The front desk employees were exceedingly helpful, even calling up to the room after we got settled to make sure everything was acceptable. The room was a typical Homewood Suites room - nice bedding, tvs worked well, nice view of the "village".

Free breakfast is included though we skipped it and tried the Blue Plate Cafe (don't miss it), and Edith Ann's (meh).

My only complaint with this hotel is that I heard our upstairs neighbors both nights when they came in late and rowday at 2 a.m. Either the walls/ceilings/floors are not very good at insulating sound, or we had REALLY loud neighbors. Either way, despite adoring this hotel, I did not get a good night's sleep either night. I'm going to chalk it up to noisy neighbors, because I liked everything else about this hotel.

In walking distance is a nice jogging trail and there is a great selection of restaurants outside the front door of this hotel. (Thai, Mellow Mushroom, sports bar, fine dining, etc...). The staff was VERY accommodating. I was in a bind finding a room in Huntsville and Ashley, the director of sales, was very helpful in finding me a room. I would highly recommend the Homewood Suites at the Village of Providence if you are staying in the Huntsville area and are looking for a good place to stay with an array of restaurants outside your front door that you can walk to. I will be back!

Homewood suites seem to be the Hilton brand that is fantastic when they are new, but get tired in just a few years. This one is beyond it's prime, but a good cleaning of the elevators and bed spreads would make a huge difference. This one has only 1 very slooww elevator so be sure to get a low floor. No quick shop for food in walking distance but a nice pub/pizza place across the street. Homewoods have a small shop by the front desk, but the prices are very high. Lots of military youngsters stay here which is nice. Ask for the government rate.
