The hotel has a beautiful interior. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The staff is overwhelmingly pleasant and helpful. I would have given a 5 if it weren't for 2 problems. First, the spa in the pool area is barely bath water warm, and children are allowed in it. Spa's should be very hot, and children should not be allowed. The other problem is not directly the fault of the hotel, but since the Ruth's Chris restaurant is in their hotel, I have to include it. My wife, three kids, and I ate here. The food was wonderful. However, we paid the bill in full, including a 15% gratuity upon finishing our meal. Then, upon returning home, we found a $22.50 charge on the card we used to make the reservation. Not even the card we provided to the hotel for our charges.
But, I would go back, very nice hotel.
This hotel NEVER fails to disappoint us! It is centrally located downtown, connected to the Von Braun Civic Center by a interior bridge. There is a beautiful park across the street which my 5 year grandson loved! He loved feeding the ducks and geese, seeing the fish, running 'free'!
The staff were always friendly, helpful. The pool was ice cold despite the maintenance man
checking the equipment - he tried his best to help but he said something needed repair.
We were checking out soon so we didn't have the opportunity to check the water temp later in the day. AND the staff treated my grandson as a person not an annoyance. They always spoke to him - not over him.
Our hockey team was lucky enough to stay at the Embassy Suites during a recent tournament in Huntsville. As usual, the hotel was clean & comfortable, and the large suites were welcomed space for our large families. The boys enjoyed playing around the hotel, and especially the indoor pool. The parents enjoyed the nightly manager's cocktail reception and the free hot breakfast. The made to order omelettes and potatoes were fabulous, and the long breakfast lines moved very quickly. Kudos to the hard working chef.
Unfortunately, the air conditioner was not working well in our room the first night of our stay, and it was rather uncomfortable. But, we were brought a fan in the middle of the night, and the engineering crew were quickly on the problem and had it solved first thing in the morning.
The open atrium lobby was a huge help to our parents, as we could look over the railing and find all the boys at any given point. Despite the rambunctiousness of our many 9 and 10 year old boys, the hotel handled our group with ease and compassion. It was also nice and close to the Space and Rocket Center! We had a blast there too.
We spent New Year's Eve night here, as we were scheduled to pick up our daughter at the US Space and Rocket Center graduation the next day. Very clean, like new hotel. Centrally located. We walked to Watercress for dinner. The hotel prepared a wonderful Happy B-day gift basket for me. Then again we are diamond members. But some hotels might not have gone the extra mile. Quiet night's rest. I am not a big fan of the Embassy Suite brand. The buffet breakfast always reminds me of a cattle call and the selection is always just okay in my view. But this hotel is a very nice one indeed.
