My wife and I passed through Birmingham recently and had the pleasure to stay at the Hyatt Place in Hoover Alabama. What a great location with Riverchase Galleria Mall right across the street.
Our room was exceptionally comfortable and clean and the big screen flatt TV really helped to see some basketball close up that night. The staff is extremely accommadating and friendly and would bend over backwards to help make our stay even more comfortable.
I found the fitness center to be as modern as they get with 5 different machines available for use. Each with its own TV.
Breakfast the next morning was healthy and delicious. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito. It was huge and quite tasty.

I stayed in that hotel for several days recently for business.

I was a little disappointed, since this is a Hyatt brand.

Room was not clean upon arrival, I found one candy on the carpet. Then the window AC was so loud that I had to request a room change. The front desk guy was very nice and offered me several choices.

I ended up in a room, slighly quieter than the previous one. I know he did his best in accommodating my request.

In my new room, an empty coke can was found right beneath the couch. Suspicious white stains on both trash cans. I felt I had to rush to Ross across the street to buy two towel to avoid theirs.

I am not by any means a light sleeper. I got woken up for three time during one night. As long as a "neighbor" was using the shower, I heard it loud and clear.

Location of this hotel is awesome. Galleria mall is across the street. Many restaurants nearby. This is important because this hotel does not have a restaurant. You got to try the Bonefish Grill, reasonably priced and delicious. Applebee there was so so. I also drove 5 miles to Cheesecake factory, pretty good.

Free limited breakfast is included, they have bagel, bagel, bagel and bagel. Sometimes donuts, sometimes biscuit, not together. NO EGG, NO french toast, NO sausage, No bacon.
Unless you want to pay $7 and wait for 15 min.

If this is a best western, I would say not bad, but as a Hyatt brand, not good.

We found this hotel via Priceline. It was an overnight stop on our way to Florida. We found the room larger than we expected and the semi-separate living room with a large couch was wonderful so our children could each sleep in a different area. We did find the bathroom very small, but not an inconvenience. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again if we were in the area.

What can I say, I payed an extra 20 dollars for a fancier and cleaner room. But it wasn't as clean as I thought it would be for the price. I expected it to be immaculate. Not with the room's coffee machine having weird white junk in it from not being washed. Or dusty areas in the walls decor. Well, it was spacious...and hey, the bed was SUPER comfy. But I prefer just a pretty good bed and a hot breakfast with a microwave in each room for twenty dollars less. Instead of just a fruit, a yogurt, coffee and a piece of bread. Oh yes, and cereal. Not worth my money I was disappointing.
