I have stayed at this property twice, it is conveniently located just south of downtown, with a number of restaurant and shopping options very close. The hotel is a bit spread out, large square with a courtyard in the middle - hence the name I guess. Made it a bit of a walk from the lobby if that is an issue for you

Lobby has the new Courtyard Bistro - nice enough. Room was comfortable, clean and while not totally updated, was in good order.

There is a YMCA right around the corner that allowed me a free visit for staying there, which is nice.

Overall - great stay

This hotel looks exactly like the pics on their website. The lobby is very modern and has a Starbucks - which our older daughter loved! There were fresh baked cookies and lemonade at the check-in. Everyone was very courteous and seemed to be happy to be there! The courtyard with outdoor pool was wonderful! They have some comfy wicker furniture in an area outside of the pool, but also have a nice table and chairs overlooking the pool (in addition to lounge chairs around the pool). The room was spacious and had two queen beds which were comfortable. Overall it was a great hotel - especially for the value! I used Priceline and got the room for $50 plus taxes/fees.

Stayed here for two nights while in Birmingham for a wedding. This is a nice Courtyard -- in a lovely setting; very quiet. The facility (other than the new lobby) is somewhat dated, but the staff makes up for that with their genuine caring attitude.

We stayed one night in the Courtyard Homewood. First, we requested a room on the top floor as always; upon arrival the front desk clerk asked how important the third floor was to us as opposed to the second. One wing of the hotel has three floors, the others have two. The reason why she asked if the third floor was important was due to a dog who lives in the neighborhood behind the hotel. Evidently he enjoys serenading guests in the wee hours of the morning. It was good of the clerk to mention this to us--we took a pool-view room on the second floor away from the dog. Not much pool action as it rained the entire time I was at the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-supplied. Our room rate included breakfast in the bistro. The food was excellent and the young man working in there was very pleasant. If you don't want to do the bistro in the evening, there is an Applebees across the street and a mall nearby. All in all this was an excellent stay and I would recommend this hotel.
