“"Clean, Roomy, Comfortable, Friendly Service"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 March 2011

My wife and I stayed here for a night while traveling using our Best Western Reward Points. The gentlemen at the front desk couldn't have been more friendlier at check-in as well as the lady at the front desk in the morning. We found the room very clean and roomy. The beds were quite comfortable. The continental breakfast was your basic offering of cereal, boiled eggs, waffles, toast, and pastries. There are ample dining opportunities nearby with a Ruby Tuesday within walking distance. There's also a Wal Mart less than a quarter mile away. If you're a golfer there's a great course in Greenville which is part of the Alabama Golf Trail. We'd definitely consider staying here again if in the area.

“Very, Very, Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2010

I had to make a quick business trip from Birmingham to Mobile and back. Not wanting to make the 11+ hour trip in one day I and needed somewhere in the middle to stay. I'm very glad I picked this hotel. I must admit that one of the reasons was because it was the most economical. This hotel is one of several that are near each other at the Greenville exit on I65.

I saw the availability on the Best Western Web site and called to make sure it was available. James, the front desk clerk, was extremely helpful on the phone and equally helpful when I arrived later that evening. Check in was a breeze. Everyone on the staff there seemed to enjoy working there, including the people who cleaned the rooms. I asked the manager (Mary, who was working the front desk in the morning) if it was rule that everyone had to be friendly and she replied: "we try."

The room was spotless. The wallpaper looked attractive and new. The carpet was spotless. It is an older hotel with the doors that face the parking lot and it was actually nice to be able to park in front of my door. The air conditioner's thermostat kept the room a steady temperature and even had a position so I could leave the fan running all night. The gas station / convenience store next door closed at 10, and even so, I never heard any noise from it. I felt very safe there. The bed was not the most comfortable but far from the worst. I would say the mattress was better than average for hotels in this price range. I do wish the pillows were a bit smaller but they did their job.

The sink area has a lot of counter space and the tub / shower is a fiberglass unit that was clean. It had the new type curtain rod that gives a bit of extra room. It had a water-pic shower massage that was simply wonderful with plenty of hot water.

The TV is the old style television (I think about a 32") but the picture was good. They have either cable or satellite with HBO. One feature I like is the ease I was able to turn on the closed captioning. It works either with or without the television being on mute. And since I'm partially hearing impaired, I'm sure the people in the next room were also greatful. But then I never heard anything from any of the rooms.

The breakfast area was also spotless and offered a better selection than many hotels today. The bagles were fresh (with cream cheese and peanut butter to go them) and, of course, the fix-it-yourself waffle iron. They have a good selection of cereals and bread for toast. They also have biscuits and hot gravy, hard boiled eggs, and three types of juice -- and decalf and regular coffee. It was nice to have the free copy of USA Today to read during breakfast.

Would I stay here again? Absolutely! Other hotels within eyesight of this one were anywhere from $30 - $100 more per night. I doubt I would have had a better night's rest.

“Clean frendly place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2010

After staying in a dump in Gulf Shores Al.and a noisy room in New Orleans this was a very welcome place for us. We were traveling and needed to stop and found this place by chance. The cost was reasonable and they had a hot breakfast for us in the morning. To top it of the hotel is AMERICAN OWNED which is a big thing for us. It was renovated a year ago and was well kept.

“What a bunch of idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 April 2010

So first off, when I got there they were charging me more than what I was quoted and when I questioned the price, he (James) told me that was the price. Instead of paying the $71 I was told I would pay, we ended up paying $104 - what a ripoff for this hotel. He kept telling me how Hotels.com screws up reservations. In the end, found out that they were charging me for 3 adults when I ASKED AS SOON AS I GOT THERE WHY I WAS BEING CHARGED SO MUCH. THE J/A NEVER MENTIONED THAT I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR 3 ADULTS when I told him it was 1 adult and 2 children. Also, I did not have my email confirmation because I made the reservation over the phone with Hotels.com when I was within a few hourts of getting there. This being my first time at the Best Western, we decided to stick with the Marriott as we have done in the past. I called the next day to speak to the "General Manager" and she couldn't even speak for herself. She had to call "James" and go through him and get info from him. She never tried to work anything out, she just said there was nothing she could do.

The beds were uncomfortable. They have some kind of plastic covering the mattress which makes a krinkling sound when you move on it. They had dozens of rooms available and put some loud people right above us that checked in at midnight. Gotta love being woken up by people stomping and throwing things around from 12-1 am. The a/c would get freezing cold and then you'd find yourself sweating 15 minutes later. Not sure what the deal was with that. THEN, we paid extra for our dog to stay with us and in the grass area around the hotel, there was a sign that stated "PLEASE DO NOT WALK YOUR DOG IN THE GRASS". okkkkkkkkkkk so exactly where were we suppose to walk the dog. FREAKIN IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
