We had come to Fultondale to attend a square dance and arrived mid-afternoon. We had reserved a room with a king sized bed. Room 225 is in the front of the hotel and overlooks a Shell gas station, the front door and parking lot. Everything about the room seemed clean and fresh. The inter-net connection was via a cable which the hotel supplies (good thing because I had left mine at home). The mini-fridge worked just fine for our purposes.
The staff at the front desk were very friendly and checked us in & out quickly. They greeted us each time we came through the lobby.
Hotel is within walking distance to a pretty good Bar-B-Q restaurant and a strip mall that has a Target (with Starbucks inside) and a Books-A-Million.
Bed was fine although the pillows were a little small. I sleep on my back with pillows under my knees and these weren't really wide enough.
Just after midnight there was some sort of loud talking by some people that seemed to be friends in the front parking lot. I wouldn't say it was a party because they were only there for about 5 min but they were talking loud enough to wake me up. They left before I decided to call the front desk to complain and I managed to quickly go back to sleep. If we come back I think I'd ask for a room that is on the Old Walker Chapel Road side of the building.
We didn't eat breakfast here because we were meeting friends at a nearby Cracker Barrel. One thing I did notice about the cereal selection - Cheerios were the only one of four that didn't seem to have a lot of sugar (which may only be of concern to diabetics). This is generally the norm. To get above normal breakfast from me, they would have to have at least two non-sugary selections.
