We were staying at this hotel for one night while visiting family in Birmingham. We arrived around midnight on a Friday and departed on Saturday morning.
The hotel appears to be well kept and is inviting. The hotel is off the highway a bit so we did not experience any traffic noise even though our room faced the highway. There is plenty parking at the hotel. They quickly checked us in and upgraded us to a suite as Priority Club Gold members. Unfortunately, there was a loud repetitive buzzing noise in our suite so we decided to change rooms, but they were very helpful and accommodating in the change, so no problem there, things happen.
On first entering the lobby, there is a very welcome feel with a small sitting area and breakfast area. They have fresh baked cookies and also offered us some bottled water and packaged cookies on check in.
Our room was a nice King room mini suite with a wet bar, microwave and fridge. The room also had a loveseat and table in addition to the nice sized work desk. Closet and bathroom space is acceptable. The climate control system worked well, and the blower can be set to on for white noise while still using the air conditioning. The room has a medium sized Flat Panel HDTV and a reasonable selection of channels. The rooms are quiet and dark at night. (at least the second room)
The breakfast was typical Holiday Inn Express hot premade cheese omelets, biscuits, gravy, bacon, as well as cold hard boiled eggs, pastries, toast, muffins, cereals, juice, milk. On Saturday morning the breakfast area was not at all crowded but well stocked and the staff was very attentive.
They lack a business center which I find odd for a Holiday Inn Express. This is an issue that really needs updating. The free High Speed Internet connection was strong around in room. The inside of the hotel clean and nice looking. The hotel has a outdoor pool and hot tub that was closed for the season. I did not have the opportunity to check out the exercise room.
There are several dining options within easy driving distance.
This is an good choice if you need to be in the area. .
