“DON'T STAY HERE unless.....”

Your only alternative is to sleep in your car!!!

I travel extensively and stay in many hotels, but this has to be the worst I've ever stayed in. Apparently it was previously a Holiday Inn Express so the property looks fine from the outside. Too bad you can't stay outside. The place is filthy inside. From the stinky elevator which looks the floor hasn't seen a mop in 5 years, to the chipped toilet seats, grungy stained carpet, and the few towels they give you which are so scratchy you wouldn't even want to use them to wash your car.

A group of us were in town for a family member's funeral. We stayed two nights over a weekend, and it went from bad to worse. Another couple in our party had a room so bad at checkin, they had to ask to be moved to another room immediately. Another said they didn't sleep at all the first night due to loud music coming from an adjoining room. When they called the front desk to complain, nothing was ever done.

The only good thing I can say about this place is that it's right next door to Wal-Mart, so when you get tired of looking at it, you can at least walk over to Wal-Mart to get away from it.

I've stayed at better Motel 6 properties and only paid half of what this place charges. Apparently they can charge $90 a night and the Bama Football fans will pay it....

Room Tip: Stay elsewhere

“Beware!!”

Stayed here a few years ago when it was a Holiday Inn Express, so thought it would be the same even though the name had changed - WRONG! Nasty, smelly, and the bed sheets, furniture, and carpet were disgusting - Could not stand the thought of staying here for the 3 nights we were in town for business - Moved to the Best Western across the street!

“IT HAS BEEN THE WORST HOTEL BY FAR THAT I VISITED”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 July 2011

First, i reserved the room on 6/26/11 and the hotel clerk sounded as if she was not clear on the date of arrival so I clarified with her twice about the arrival and departure date as well as the price even after i received the cofirmation#--to make the story short--i was charged 87.69 on the prior date check in then come to find out she had not still undertood the dates correctly as well as give me the group rate for a family reunion of $69.99, then the room was not clean, walls looked horrible, floor not vaccumed, sheets not clean as well as toilet seat not properly secure and tub stopper not in tub, t.v channels were blurry, fizzled and to top it off the coffe pot was not clean it had mildew inside with the coffe and coffe packet still inside. Later that evening the elevator stopped working as well and the pool was closed for poor maintenance and breakfast was not out and ready at the time stated. After i complained to the manger about my room needing cleaning they still did nothing but straighten the same covers on my bed. After check out the rate i was told i was going to pay due to the mishap they still charged to my card. I could go on with more terrible conditions but its too much so, UNTIL YOU SEE --UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT OR NEW OWNER--i would not stay at this hotel.

“Pool Out of Order and Useless Wifi”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

I called in advance checking to see if there was a pool, wifi, and continental breakfast at this hotel and was advised yes to all three. Maybe I should have asked if the pool was in working order. After we arrived, we were ready to go to the pool only to see a sign saying the pool was out of service because maintenance problems. My kids were ready to check back out but I told them don't worry about it we'll go swimming somewhere else. It felt like there was no air in the hallway on the 3rd floor where my room was located it was very hot and humid. The ice machine on the 3rd floor was also broken. You had to go to the 1st floor for ice. My daughter and I got our laptops out and tried to connect to the internet, there were several connections that came up but we were not able to connect to any. We called the front desk asking which connection to use and the clerk did not know. She told us we could get an ethernet cord from the front desk to connect. We still were unable to use the internet. I am glad we did not need the internet but we were very disatisfied with the hotel altogether.

I woke up at about 11 pm only to find a bedbug walking towards me. Blood stains were on the boxsprings (previous victims). Checked out at Midnight - went to Best Western across street - very clean and polite staff.
