Had a great time at the Dauphin House! The Clarks were hospitible and polite! Breakfast was great and the room was clean and nice! Bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was an appropriate size for 2 people with a private entrance on the patio (Room 4). The house is on the bay with a great area out back to look out over the water! We brought our dog Polo and he had a great time! Dauphin Island is super dog friendly and the house is a good distance from the beaches. Polo never had to be alone in the room and was able to go to dinner and to the beach with us!

I read another review that said you'll like this place if you life getting away from the hotel crowd...so yes, I loved it very much.
We stayed a long weekend at Dauphin House in 2005, and have been wanting to get back ever since. We took our boat this time and launched it from the SeaLab launch. We had plenty of room to park it at the Dauphin House in the driveway and were welcome to do so. Several other families or couples were here this weekend, breakfast was 8:00-9:00 and we had plenty of hot, fresh food: eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, biscuits, grits, etc etc,and fresh, sweet cantelope. YUM. Saturday evening we sat on our balcony and enjoyed watching a trio of ladies fish off the small pier: From the laughing dancing I think they were having a fine time, getting away from the hotel crowd, too!

Our room was clean as whistle and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was small but clean and the towels are good, thick, quality towels.

I have no idea if the TV worked, we don't go to the beach to watch the news. We go to eat, chill out, disconnect, and slow down. The Dauphin House is a great place to relax, take a deep breath, and recharge your batteries.

I stayed here during the Fishing Rodeo. The B & B was completely booked but owner and caretaker took the time to make sure I was settled in and had everything I needed throughout my whole stay. My room was clean and quite roomy. Bathroom was clean and large. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend this charming B & B.

We have stayed there for at least lets say 10 years. And it has gotten worst as the years have gone by. First of all ,the owners don't like boaters or kids to stay there. I think a boater left the water on (5yrs ago)while washing out their boat and the water stayed on for days and now the owners don't like anybody using the water to rinse out your boat anymore. And don't think about putting out lights on their (dangerously falling in the water pier) Because the lights will disappear in the middle of the night. The owners say pets are allowed, but now you can't leave the pets in the room when you are gone. WTF!!!
Just like some other posters, the place needs alot of remodeling from head to toe.
The breakfast serving time has gone down 1 1/2 hours now. 8 to 9:30. The other owner use to ask us what time we were going to wake up to go fishing and she would have a very nice buffet set up for us in the morning @ 4:00 am.
