This is one of the many visits I have made to this hotel and found that there was a better effort this time. A free drink voucher was given to us on check in and the room we got was in the better executive wing where the pool is. This side is so much better than the regular side.

The front desk staff were wonderful for a change and the young man helping us was quite funny and welcoming. This was unusual as we have not found the front desk staff very welcoming.

Too bad this hotel does not have some competition as they would definitely lose if there was a better option in town.

Hotel staff was the best at our whole Brazil trip! They speak english very well (which is rare in Brazil) and helped us woth a late checkout, ATM, place to eat etc etc. We stayed here twice because of our flight to Fernando de Noronha. First room didn't have a view but was big and the AC quiet. Unfortunately the shower in this room wasn't a cabin so the whole bathroom was floaded! The second room was with a view, but smaller. But with a good showercabin.
Location of the hotel is good and a lot of restaurants and the beach nearby. We didn't go to the pool or gym, so no comment on that. And the hotel has free wifi.

We came to Recife after a short stay in Salvador at the Ibis there. It was like night and day, we very much enjoyed the Manibu, starting with the friendly service. At Ibis, they did not have anyone who spoke english but I speak just enough Portugeuse to get the room. But the service stunk in any language, ask for a reservation for a restuarant, they give you a phone # and tell you to go to room. At the Manibu, they were great. The room was nice, clean and best of all, included wifi that did work most of the time. It had a great b'fest, even tho I only eat fruit and eggs, they had a great spread. You folks gave it #2 rating, and as a hotel in the city, it was well deserved, it was not a resort with grounds and swimming pool (they had a small on on roof), but in great part of Boa Viagem--near 2 very good restuarants, Mingus and E which are must go tos. So we stronly recommend it, and bonus, if senior, there is 10% off.

1 block from the beach. Nice lobby bar. Good accessibility over All except low toilet, high sink, not enough space between foot of the bed and wall.
