“Great Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

I loved their Bengali food!! while i have eaten at other restaurants in the city including kewpi, their Dhoka was yummy!. they've got a vast campus, with villas cottages, rooms and the spa is a must visit. time to time u see a sneek peak of wild life (we saw two snakes and a few kingfishers and parakeets) . its quite good all in all except for one problem- the approach. its atleast 50 km from the city and the roads are PATHETIC. so take a good car with you.

“Great place to stay out of the hustle and bustle of Calcutta...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We stayed here in early January 2012. Two friends and I traveled to Calcutta for the sole purpose of going to Mother Teresa's House and orphanage (which if you are going to Calcutta you must not miss--these are the most delightful and holy women!). We wanted to stay somewhere out of the craziness of the city that would give us a good feel for what India was like (this was our first visit to India). This hotel was just the ticket! We truly felt like we were in India from the entry way, to the grounds to the rooms. The rooms were very clean and the showers were HUGE and very clean. Ther service was surperb and the food was good. It was such a charming place. The price is very, very reasonable for what you get. The only draw back was the location. This is the reason I can not give it 5 stars. It took us almost two hours to get from the Mother House in Calcutta to the hotel. It is not all that far but the roads in Calcutta are like nothing you can imagine! Pot holes and unpaved on many stretches which makes for a very bumpy-crazy ride. Plus, the traffic is grueling. There are thousands of people on every corner and cows walking around...therefore you simply can not travel more than 20 or 30 mph. If you don't mind a bit of a drive, and you really want to see a lot of Calcutta...then by all means stay here. We did not mind the ride because we were able to see so many sites that otherwise we would not have but for some, this may be too long of a commute to get back into Calcutta. One plus though is that it was only about 35 minutes from the international airport! Great place to stay. I would go back in a heartbeat and I'm a picky traveler who has seem many countries around the world!

“Superb Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I have been to vedic village very recently. It is a very nice resort, very near to the airport and superbly made. The rooms and the view from rooms is very refreshing. Since its a Spa resort, must try out the spa facilities here, especially aromatherapy. An ideal place for a weekend getaway for people who live in kolkatta.

Room Tip: Must try out the spa..

“Great Spa resort, but not a great location !!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

I made a last minute booking at this hotel due to non-availability at any other hotel in Kolkata in Nov 2011. Now, it was already angry due a delayed flight. When i hired a car to reach there, I was even more angry and tired due to the pathetic access road (about 10-15 kms) from the airport. But, once I reach there, I was completely shocked. What a resort. They gave me suite, a huge and spacious one. Great swimming pool. Lots of spa/massage therapies and great food.

“Pamper yourself”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

Went there few years back. The place is about 40 kms from airport. But once you reach therem you won't want to come out. Huge property, with lots of cottages catering to different needs of the guests. Of course hotel rates are quite high (I could afford it as I was on an official trip :)). Food is also good and do try the spa. The place is very good for a weekend.
