located right in the middle of all the business centers of kolkatta, this is an old classic..you cant go wrong with this one..ive made several trips to kolkatta for work and have always stayed at this place......there is nothing fancy about the hotel, little overpriced but the location and the many restaurants & markets to walk around in the evenings ...cover up for the overprice :)

Good hotel with comfortable rooms, nice ambience and prompt/courteous services. The main advantage is its location - right at the centre of business hub. The complimentary breakfast is excellent with options of north indian and south indian delicacies.

I happened to stay at golden park during my business trip.
I felt very comfortable and compliment to staff which is professionally managed.
Right from check in to last day, staff was quite courteous esp Jahida

While pondering the question, one can also admire the opulent lobby of this rather chunky looking hotel at the historic Ho Chi Minh street of the city.
The rooms are claimed to have a boutique look but this seems to be restricted to rather garish primary colors.
The rooms at the rear overlook a large vacant lot while those at the front face the street.
Hotel Golden Park (it has a second "k" by the way)is also known for its huge, cavernous disco lounge bar restaurant which is supposedly filled up at weekends. There are also nearly 14 conference rooms, banquet halls and meeting rooms which explains the frequent movement of groups of people in the breaks around the hotel.
Food is of an acceptable standard as it is generally in most hotels here.
The location of the hotel is central for the historic quarter and with the UK Deputy High Commission and the U.S. Consulate round the corner security should not be a concern.
Basically attractive to the business traveler large family groups were also seen frequenting the hotel ahead of the holday season.
