During my second stay at this hotel, I went with my family, two adult children, a husband and my 80 year-old mother and 90-year old father. Since the hotel did treat me quite well during my last business trip they can't really go wrong. So many of us in tow, we took two Junior Suites. Lobby: beautiful, welcoming:great, checking-in: incredible, rooms: super clean. Until we entered the bathroom. A massive sink stood in the middle of the bathroom with no place to put my toiletries. A tiny sink was built inside the shower room (???). So where am I supposed to put all my toiletries. So I tried putting my toothbrush on the tiny sink in the shower and the glass I used got drowned in water when I took a shower. So I tried putting my toothbrush on the stand-alone sink, which by the way means you cannot look at yourself in the mirror when you floss or clean your face. Why? Because there's none to look at. Then my 80-year-old mother called from the suite next door saying she can't find any soap or face towels or shower caps in the bathroom. And you know why, because the designer of the bathroom must have thought - why not get all these silly toiletries out of the way and put all of them on a shelf about six feet off the ground so these silly short Asians will never find them and put a beautiful stand-alone sink in the middle. So fortunately for us there were my two grown-up children, tall enough to reach the toiletries. The wardrobe they thought would be strategically placed in the bathroom as well so that when one person is doing his or her nature's call let's make sure the other member can't get dressed and let's delay them getting ready. Oh Taj - perhaps you should ask your customers in the future when you decide to do a massive renovation whether they like old-fashioned sinks attached to the walls or a designer sink in the middle of the bathroom. Me, on my next trip to Kolkata I'm going to call hotels first and ask for a layout of their bathroom.
Room Tip: I think a deluxe room would have been a better choice. They probably have sinks attached to the wall...
