I arrived from the airport late at night, to be patted down by a brusque security guard, and then hit by the really very strange smell which permeates this hotel. Check-in was long, and when I did get up to my room, there was a cleaning trolley outside it with a wet dirty mop and somebody else's half-eaten biscuits. The trolley remained there for the duration of my stay, but one of the biscuits mysteriously 'walked' several metres up the corridor. I didn't really want to think about how.
The rooms are, sorry, grotty: the minibar cabinet had an abandoned polyester curtain in it, the minibar fridge contained nothing but a healthy growth of mould, and the sheets had an unpleasant whiff of the laundry basket about them. Sleep quality was significantly affected by the banging house music from the club in the basement.
On the plus side, the Italian restaurant was pretty good (Indian one lacklustre), and yes, the location is convenient. The staff here are trying really hard, doing their best in difficult circumstances. What this hotel needs extensive investment and refurbishment, and until it gets them, best to avoid.
