“A friendly Guesthouse Owner”

I stayed on and off at Saroj Deep during December 2011 and found Mr Banerjee, the owner, to be a good man - interesting to talk to and helpful. I was particularly grateful when he agreed to look after my luggage on my last day even though I was then staying at another guesthouse! My room was right at the top, and although I have to say the bathroom needs a little improvement, the room was clean and light, and I enjoyed having a balcony and it was very peaceful. I enjoyed the breakfasts and the breakfast room, and the guesthouse is in a nice, quiet area but with the enjoyable buzz of Gariahat on the doorstep, plus a good coffee bar nearby and an HSBC bank. Well located, friendly, very safe, and very accommodating. A good recommendation as it is family-run and Mr Banerjee has been in business a long time. I will return.

I stayed recently in this guest house from 25.11.2011 to 28.11.2011. It is a family environment and no hastled. Very good owner. Calm stay. I liked it.
Only small improvement required in Standard A/c room is,

1. Put T/V on a comfortable viewable height stand
2. A/c is noisy. Should provide remote for A/c
3. in Toilet, Health Facet is requried.

Other than the above, it was very good.

We stayed with family at Saroj Deep guest house in early October, 2011 and are pleased to put on record that this guest house is very safe, clean and spacious. We felt like home. They mainly serve morning tea and breakfast at cost. There are many good restaurants nearby. So, food is no problem. It is very conveniently and centrally located in a posh area of South Kolkata.
