The hotel has a twenty four hour policy which can work against you if you arrive early in the morning off the night train as I did. However, the management was very accommodating in extending the time for me for a small extra charge. I really appreciated the helpfulness and charm of the front office staff. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. It was a squat toilet, that surprised me as I have not come across one at the rate that was charged, and the tv only had local channel so I could not use that amenity. The budget room which was not that budget had a ceiling fan that worked on super speed or nothing, I sweltered in that room because the overhead was too drafty and I could not use it as well. These are not negatives just information. Travelling in India i appreciate the feeling of safety, fairly clean and some facility. This place is a good choice for the budget traveller. The transport is very expensive in Chennai, most of my rupee went on that. Most of the people are just out for your money, here they take it with a smile, I would go back if I ever went back to chennai, I would upgrade to an ac room.
